We went to Mali Ston for the Oyster Festival and booked at the Hotel Ostrea which is right on the water and in the center of town. Little did we know our hotel was right where the festival was taking place. the hotel itself is very charming. we had on sea view room. rooms were a bit small, but the rooms and hotel was nicely appointed. the European style breakfast had a nice variety and was very good. Overall I recommend the Hotel Ostrea.

I left all the organising of our accommodation to our tour operators Meridien Ten & they couldn't have done a better job especially when choosing our accommodation in Mali Ston. The location was picturesque. The rooms whilst not very large, were quaint. Breakfast, sitting on the patio overlooking the water, was wonderful. Thank you Meridien Ten for organising a fantastic once in a life time bike tour & for selecting great accommodation such as Hotel Ostrea

We spent a night here on our way back to Dubrovnik airport at the end of a fortnight's holiday. A great location overlooking the water and hills. Friendly and helpful welcome. Our room ('Kate'), directly off reception, was fine if a little cramped. Very reasonable rates. Having now read other reviews I realise we should have taken our breakfast on the terrace. Mali Ston is a delightful, quiet haven with a very good restaurant (Kapertanova Kuca) at which to eat, having first built up an appetite by walking the wall.

We had a one night stop over in this hotel, lovely quiet location overlong the water. Good restaurant nearby. Convenient location between Dubrovnik and routes to the north of Croatia. Breakfast on outside terrace in the morning.

Hotel is okay if you take a room with a balcony in the dependance. Nice use of wood and plenty of art in hotel. AC not strong enough to cool: we had to keep it on all the time. Hotel nicely located for a (short) stroll in the small old town, and a footstep away from the pier for a swim. Breakfast at restaurant Mlinica was really great as well as the service. It's a very good buffet and if you want eggs they will make it at no extra cost.
The restaurant next door (same owners) is an absolute must. We ate there three times during our short stay. You can't leave without trying the black cuttlefish risotto at kapetano kuca. Seashells don't get fresher than here!

We stayed for 6 nights at Hotel Ostrea and it could not have been more perfect. We'd hoped to find a small, quiet hotel in a beautiful location and we were not disappointed.

The hotel is right on the sea in a small harbour, very picturesque, perfect if you're looking for tranquility and 'a get away'. We were given a quiet welcome with no fuss.

There is a flat area outside the hotel to sun bathe and swim, it is stoney and best to wear something on your feet to walk and swim. The sea is beautiful, clean and blue/green with the odd fisherman going out in his little boat for Oysters. The area is well known for their oysters, I can recommend them. You can use free the hotel's sun loungers and for a small charge hire towels.

Breakfast is served outside undercover, it is hot in the morning and the shade was welcomed, with a view of the sea. Breakfast has a good choice of meats, cheeses, breads, cooked eggs, fruits, cakes etc - buzz fizz if you want! I would have preferred the option of more coffee but that's just a minor critisim.

Our room was on the small side dual aspect with big dark furniture, but was clean and had everything we needed, the air con was good and the bathroom had both shower and bath, we had a sea view, the hotel doesn't have rooms with balconies.

The restaurant owned by the hotel (a couple of minutes walk) is fabulous and is known well in Croatia for its superb food, it's reasonably priced and full of busy, we liked it so much we ate there most evenings, after enjoying aperitifs at the hotel.

I think we'll find it hard to match this place for future holidays. Ston is a kilometre away and offers more restaurants, cafes and shops, it is much bigger than Mali Ston, the walls are interesting to walk around and the views are worth the effort.

The hotel has car parking outside and under cover.

Room Tip: 'Nike' double room with bath, shower and sea view.

Located right by the sea, this small hotel built within a reconstructed old house is perfect if you need to rest a little bit from big city activities. Rooms are small (very European), yet comfortable. There is no elevators! The view from the rooms and from the veranda beside the hotel, where you can have a drink or breakfast, is quite nice.
If you are in good shape, take your time (about an hour or more) to hike the old city walls. The longest I have seen in Europe. For 30K you can access them. Terrific views from there.
We made a reservation at the Kapetanova Kuca Restaurant (owned by the same family that owns the hotel) and had a great dinner.
You can go for a swim in the sea just in front of the hotel. Or just hang out and catch some rays.
Overall, a great experience.
BTW, internet (wifi) worked quite well during our stay.

Room Tip: There'e very few rooms, but try to get the ones facing the sea. The view is quite nice from ther...
