It was our last day in the island and we wanted to find a hotel close to the airport. My wife did a few search online and found this hotel. She found places in the website saying that we can get an upgrade if we are aaa member or if we can tweet it about it, and we decided to book it because of that. We did tweet it and we are also aaa members. When checking in, we were told that we got an upgrade and it was a supreme room. However, when we walked in, no way this is a supreme room. It is a standard two beds room for sure! Also, we did not get coupons for the breakfast. When we asked the front desk, the lady was very unhelpful and had a bad attitude. She seemed to have no knowledge about the tweet upgrade and aaa upgrade. I will not recommend this hotel.

I dont know about these positive reviews, This place is dated looks like a hotel from the 1960 that has not been updated, beds are hard, very small room, things falling apart,
THIS IS NOT A HOTEL, ITS A MOTEL. Should charge 49.00 a Night . The a 5.00 parking fee. STAY AWAY if you want to get some rest .

Photos look great on web site, soon as you see your room you will be disappointed

Fiance and I stayed here for 4 nights across our trip to Kona. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The location is excellent as you are within walking distance or short driving distance to pretty much anything you want or need in Kailua-Kona. We had the deluxe room and the breakfast at Splashers Restaurant was good too. It's a reduced menu of three different options FYI. The rooms are nothing special but decent enough and clean. Also cool at night if you get hot easy. Our rooms had a mini fridge which was super helpful. Wi-fi was free throughout the hotel but parking was $5 / day if you couldn't find space in the free lot, which is less than a block away.

The hospitality room was very helpful to us as we had a late night flight. The staff let us store our baggage as well as take a shower and pack in the hospitality room free of charge the day of our departure.

Room Tip: The free lot filled up quick during the day, but had lots of spaces after 6-7pm. It seemed like there was constant movement in and out of the lot during the day though, so you could hang around for a bit and hope for a spot.

Last week my family visited Kailua-Kona Hawaii and stayed at Kona Seaside Hotel. It was delightful! The lobby is decorated with hand-made Hawaiian quilt samplers made lovingly by Mama Kimi, matriarch to the family-owned chain. The staff at the front desk are so warm and welcoming, you just want to hug them. Always calm and serene, exuding the Aloha Spirit!. Rooms were sunny and clean with big balconies for resting, reading and watching. Location is perfect! We walked everywhere...refrigerators in the room let us store fresh fruits for noshing. No matter where you want to go in the charming Kona village, this hotel was perfectly situated. We walked to the beach areas and garden walks in every direction. Great eateries and modern conveniences like food markets, drug stores, Costco and Target nearby too. Took refreshing dips in the pool and across the street at the sandy beach cove. If you're looking for the best value and the best Aloha, you gotta try Kona Seaside Hotel. They have streams of return visitors from around the world and we'll be part of that crowd too. Of course, free use of Apple computers in the lobby topped it off!

Room Tip: The ocean side is great. We stayed there before. This time we were overlooking the pool and it was fine too.

In addition to a wonderful, friendly staff, the location is fabulous. Thanks to a refrigerator in our room (I think in all rooms); we enjoyed breakfast on our lanai in the mornings. There is a nice pool at the hotel, but there is also a small beach across the street where you can watch the cruise ships and fishing boats.

The hotel is owned and managed by a local Hawaiian family and is located in the heart of Kailua-Kona. It is easy walking distance to restaurants, Hulihee Palace and the Kona Farmers Market.

The Aloha Spirit is alive and well from the great front desk staff to the room maids. As we met other guests in the elevator, it seemed many were returning guests. I know our family will be back on our next trip to Kona!
