Kona Seaside was located near shops, restaurants and the water. We only needed to stay for one night and found it to be comfortable, clean, with a friendly staff. Internet access was available when we needed it. We would stay there again.

Super friendly staff at the front desk. This is located right in town where it is easy to walk to all the shops. For the price it is a great deal. I booked through expedia and it was all exactly as advertised. $5 for a night of parking, which was easy and conveniently located in front of the building. Maids were super nice too--mahalo to Ruth for the extra clean towels!

As noted by some the road is nearby and can be loud. We noticed that too--you either leave the AC on for the white noise or open the slider and have the street noise. Mostly annoying at 4 am when the trash trucks start picking up in the neighborhood. We found the windows closed tightly and with the AC did not notice the street noise.

Room was clean and had all we needed and fit the budget.

Kona Seaside is not an upscale hotel, but for location, price and all around great service it would be hard to beat.We requested a room away from road and had no issues with noise. The hotel is a little dated, but how much time will you spend in your room? Rooms are nice-sized, bed was quite comfy. We were unable to access wi-fi,but that might have been an issue with our laptop hard to say as we were able to get wi-fi at coffee shop down the road. Hotel is easy walking distance to shops and restaurants and also the pier where you can swim, snorkel or watch locals practicing in their outriggers. There is also a pull shower by pier - added bonus. Above all else, I really have to commend their welcoming spirit. All the women at the front desk were extremely helpful and gave us tips about good places to eat and visit. Pua was particularly outstanding and knowledgeable about local goings on. Don't hesitate to stay here!

Room Tip: We had a room facing the garden about 3 floors up - had an ocean view and it was quiet.

The Kona Seaside was a perfect place for us to finish our time on the Big Island. The hotel isn't a resort of any kind, but for the budget-conscious looking to stay in a nice room in a good location, this place is for you.

The room was comfortable and clean, the location put us right in the center of Kona with access to everything we needed (dining and shopping), and provided us easy access to the airport as well as activities in other nearby towns. Despite what a couple others have said, we didn't experience any noise problems, although we did face away from Palani Highway.

My advice, if you plan on coming to this hotel, is to look for the free public parking down Kuakini Highway one block (Google satellite it!). It's a few minute walk on Likhana Lane and unless you're older or need quick access to your vehicle, you might as well save a few bucks and park there. You may need to circle the lot a few times if you get back to the hotel near dinnertime (especially on weekends), but it never took us more than a couple minutes to find a spot.

The great 'aloha' hospitality, comfort, affordability, and convenience were as advertised. The room was very comfortable and was very comfortable. We loved the orange-peel flavored water in the lobby on those hot humid days. We had no issues whatsoever.

Room Tip: Top (or 5th) floor, facing the ocean - a great room.

The age of the hotel was apparent but it was well maintained and clean. I was hesitant at first when we entered the room and saw only a window unit for the AC but it worked perfectly and kept us cool. Took us a little while to find the ice machine since they don't have one on each floor but that was a minor thing. I would recommend it if you need a place to stay.
