“The place to visit if you want to see into the future”
Reviewed 7 June 2013

This is an outstanding facility. The amount of information provided is mind staggering and what they are researching is cutting edge. I was particularly interested in the deep sea water activities and the various enterprises they support. It is worth seeing. There are lectures on Tuesday's which are very informative

“Could be a great attraction but needs more work to be family friendly”
Reviewed 26 April 2013

We stopped by here and really wanted to see and understand how the energy lab worked. We investigated and there was a lecture in progress which would not have been suitable for our family.

We thought it would be good to at least see abalone but couldn't really work out where to go so we ended up giving it a miss.

Would be wonderful if an interactive display could be set up and maybe family friendly tours?

“Interesting scientific information.”
Reviewed 27 March 2013

Had to make a few trips out to the NELHA to find it open but it was interesting. Probably more geared towards children 8+. Good information on sea life, ocean technology and sustainability for the future. Several vendor tables set up in the lab from which to gather interesting facts, samples, etc. to take home.

“Hidden beach”
Reviewed 23 March 2013

The energy laboratory itself is not much of an attraction, it does however lead to a great beach. Wouldn't be our first choice as there are lots of great beaches in the area - still worth a visit though
