“Very Small, OK Beach”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

Pretty, but very small beach. Most waves were breaking right on the shore. Not for small children. Nice to hang out at tho.

“Big surf - adults go out, kids stay close”
Reviewed 7 April 2014

This is a small beach with some great sand. As the name says, the sand can disappear with the tides. It can be hot, so be sure to bring an umbrella. Head to Costco if you don't have one. The undertow is quite strong and the waves can be big, so be safe while you're out having fun. There are lifeguards, but some people I was watching didn't look like strong enough to be out as far as they were.

“Not worth the effort”
Reviewed 3 April 2014

A small scallop shaled beach that cannot compare with the likes of Hapuna. If you want the classic beach, go north.

“Where did the sand go?”
Reviewed 20 March 2014 via mobile

hard to believe this is the same lovely beach we visited one year ago. All the beautiful white sand has disappeared leaving a beach with huge lava rocks. Still fun but a bit rough. I guess that's why they call it Magic sands.

“Disappearing beach”
Reviewed 15 March 2014

Lots of exposed rocks there in February/March. Good place to boogie board if you know what you are doing. Enjoyed watching the waves come in on a stormy day. They even closed the beach to locals.
