We're not sure if it was our Australian accents or our run of the mill hire car but we pretty much got treated like lepers at the gatehouse. We were a bit put off by the steep prices when looking up this property from Australia but we're keen golfers and all the reviews on here were so good so we thought given it's not high season and there is plenty of availability around we would have a look when we arrived and if it was that good book then. Well the gate guard was having none of that - you can't book on the day, this is a private estate and the course is paid for by residents ( err what?)? You can't just drive here. You can walk the half mile in if you must but no car (we have a baby with us!) we left and even then he barely trusted us to of a u-turn on the hallowed turf. We're Australian, usually it's no problem to check out a property before you book, it's also no problem to pay to play a golf course - no problem if things are different here bug there's no reason to be rude, patronising and aggressive.
