“We might of stayed - if the gate guard would have let us in”

We're not sure if it was our Australian accents or our run of the mill hire car but we pretty much got treated like lepers at the gatehouse. We were a bit put off by the steep prices when looking up this property from Australia but we're keen golfers and all the reviews on here were so good so we thought given it's not high season and there is plenty of availability around we would have a look when we arrived and if it was that good book then. Well the gate guard was having none of that - you can't book on the day, this is a private estate and the course is paid for by residents ( err what?)? You can't just drive here. You can walk the half mile in if you must but no car (we have a baby with us!) we left and even then he barely trusted us to of a u-turn on the hallowed turf. We're Australian, usually it's no problem to check out a property before you book, it's also no problem to pay to play a golf course - no problem if things are different here bug there's no reason to be rude, patronising and aggressive.

Truly has set a new level for relaxation and my expectation. The service was off the charts- from the smallest details - my name remembered , slippers placed next to the bed, water pitcher and glass placed at bedside with turn down - spectacular views from every angle especially my bungalow's sea view porch. Golf was off the charts - the beauty of the course, lava rock, lush greens and flowers. Expensive but worth every penny!

Stoked we were able to play on the same course as many of the pros have. The greens are immaculate and we enjoyed the course. It was a great day for my and I to enjoy a twosome. Highly recommend play on this if you are staying at the Four Seasons. Staff at the Pro Shop couldn't have been nicer.

This is my second visit to The Four Seasons Kona. And yet again , the stay was excellent in every way. The pool staff is extremely accommodating at both Beach Tree and Palm Grove. The concierge staff was extremely responsive to email requests. Meals at Ulu Ocean Grill were outstanding. The demeanor of the staff in every facet of the resort was excellent without being ostentatious. The cost is steep but you are never disappointed by the results. I hope to return to The Four Seasons Kona again soon.
