“The view, the food, the service - AMAZING!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2014

On a recent trip to Hawaii, we saved one of the best meals for last. We dined at Ulu on the last night of our trip and it was the perfect ending to a week in paradise. We began the evening at the bar inside with cocktails and an appetizer. The bartender was fantastic and made sure we were more than satisfied with our libations. Once we were seated at our table, which was beach front, we were greeted by an amazing waitress. She took care of us all night long, despite the fact that the restaurant was very busy. I would return in a heartbeat.

“New Favorite ”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 July 2014 via mobile

Just finished with a fantastic dinner date with my wife at 'Ulu. The food, the view, the staff were all top notch. Was worried after reading a few reviews but l can say its now my favorite restaurant. The corn and coconut soup was beyond words and the lilikoi wild boar buns was the best. Our waiters Steve and Jaime were #1.

“Good but not Four Seasons standards.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 July 2014 via mobile

Our waiter didn't know our name or just didn't use it. Not typical of our experience at a Four Seasons restaurant. The fish entrees we had were fresh and very high quality, but somewhat lacking in flavor. Our entree arrived after our appetizer and before salad. Our waiter accepted responsibility for the mistake, and the restaurant tried to compensate by comping our cocktails and dessert. Admirable as this gesture was, we were still disappointed as we really wanted those fresh island tomatoes (but not after our entrees). In this instance the Four Seasons did not exceed my expectations (which was its motto for many years). While the atmosphere is great, you can get a better overall experience at Brown's at the Fairmont Orchid or the Canoe House at the Mauna Lani.

“Overpriced hotel food at best”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 July 2014 via mobile

The evening started out great with expertly crafted cocktails and friendly bar service. We were seated well before our reservation and with ample time to enjoy the sunset. Our waiter was friendly and appeared to be on top of our service by initially anticipating our needs. However, once our food arrived we never saw him again. The appetizers were average although the poke was personally crafted at our table which was a nice touch. The ribeye flavorless and the lobster dry and over cooked. For a high end restaurant boasting a locally sourced menu it was very limited and bland. This is overpriced hotel food at best. The house music was too loud and if you are expecting any sort of Hawaiian experience this place is not for you. Take away the sunset and palm trees and you may as well be in any three star convention hotel restaurant on the mainland.

We have breakfast every day at Ulu. Wonderful views of the ocean. The buffet was great. Very relaxing way to wake up to start the day.
