“A vacation to remember”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 January 2014

We arrived at the condo late in the evening on our first day after a very long flight from Alberta, Canada. We just wanted to bring in our luggage and relax. It was dark outside when we arrived, so we couldn't get a good feel for the place that was going to be our home for the next two weeks. While my wife was looking for the security code to enter into the automatic controller, I could see the well lit grounds had a beautiful tennis court, swimming pool and what looked to be a very well cared for area. From the instructions that were given to us by the owner, we were easily able to find our parking stall and the key to get into our condo.
On first entry into the condo, the first thing that we noticed was how much space our new place actually had. Kitchen was spacious, well lit with lots of cupboard space. Counter top was granite and the appliances were all newer stainless steel. The rest of the unit was clean with good quality furniture. There was a large bedroom on the main floor with a queen size bed that my oldest daughter used. A large loft with another queen bed was the space my youngest girl claimed for herself. The master bed room was very large with sliding doors that lead out on a very large lani. A second set of sliding doors lead out onto the lani from the main living area. This provided a great view from the living room area when the sun came up the following morning. And what a view it was! A lava rock coast line traced itself up and down the complex while getting constantly battered by the ocean provided a very relaxing treat for all the senses. Beautiful place to enjoy that morning cup of coffee. The sunset in the evening from the same vantage point was amazing and one of my personal highlights of our trip.
A stroll around the grounds revealed well kept beautiful lawns accented with lava rocks, large trees and shrubs. Tennis courts and a swimming pool provided much activities for all of us during our stay. To top it all off, a walk to the back of the complex put you that much nearer to that ocean experience that we had from our lani.
Negative things were hard to find during our stay and the only things that came to mind was the screen doors were not fitting properly and came off the track a couple of times. Also, the hallway door was jamming a little.
All in all, this was a beautiful condo. Wonderful area and a great place to call home for our stay on the big island.

Great location and well maintained grounds/property. Ocean front townhome with pounding surf kept us entertained. Nearby beaches perfect for snorkeling and turtle watching. Farmers' markets at the nearby shopping mall provided great eats.

We had a great stay at Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet club. Our condominium was perfect, and the club grounds were filled with beautiful trees, flowers, and birds. Besides playing tennis, swimming at the pool, and wandering on the beach where we found a turtle sunning himself, we grilled several meals at the club grill. We were minutes away from a grocery and great restaurants, so that we could cook in, or eat out. After a great day on the island, it was a pleasure coming back to this paradise to relax and enjoy the setting sun over the ocean.

Room Tip: It was great being on the second floor for the view and the breeze, and to have a conominium facing...

We had a very nice stay in a ground floor 2bdr, 2bath unit at the Keauhou Kona Surf and Racquet club resort. Great location near shopping and restaurants. Close walk to a nice snorkeling beach. The condo was clean and well appointed. It had all the important amenities and a well appointed kitchen. We were very comfortable and pleased with the condo. It was easy to access, the reservation process was easy.

Tranquil location on a small cove with a black sand beach, turtles, manta rays, spear fisherman, and an endless parade of sailing and outrigger canoes and paddle boarders. Beautifully landscaped grounds overflowing with flowers, property includes a couple of ancient Hawaiian archaeological sites. Ocean-front views of Kona as well as the Ke’eku and Kapuanoni Heiaus next door. Unit #104 does not have any curtains on the windows in the bedroom (upstairs) or 1st floor bathroom so privacy is an issue, despite what the website states it does not have a VCR or icemaker, and the mattress is rock-hard. But you simply can not beat the ocean-front location of this unit.

Room Tip: Ocean-front is a must, and note that some units have been rewired and upgraded to accommodate air co...

We stayed here for a week and loved both the surf and racket club and particularly this condo. It was amazing to wake every day to the sound of the ocean and watch dolphins in the bay during breakfast. The condo has everything you need and is very well kept and super comfortable. We loved being on the top floor for the views, the added privacy and the wonderful ocean breeze!! The owner, Bruce, was great at checking that we had everything for our stay and quick to respond to any queries both before our stay and during.

As for the club, it is just far enough away from the main strip to give peace and quite but close to everything. The pool is great and we walked daily to the close by snorkleing bay to swim with turtles. It was a great place to base ourselves to explore the Big Island.

I would recommend this particular unit to anyone.

Room Tip: I would select the condos over the town houses at the Surf and Raquet clud as the town houses seem a...

I usually try to find something about the place that "could be improved," but I'm having a hard time with this one. It truly felt like home. it had all the conveniences - location (close to golf course and beaches), well-stocked (kitchen, living, and beach fun) amenities, and very clean. I do wish it had air conditioning as it did get pretty hot and stuffy, especially the master bedroom. but the fans really did help. I would definitely recommend and most likely return.
