We were tremendously surprised when we first arrived. Retro architecture but nicely appointed rooms. Very spacious with most units having a good view of the ocean, Maunaloa or both. The people were friendly and not overly pushy with the classic timeshare shtick. Nice pools but seem unheated. Ones hot tub. The thing we wanted but didn't have was a fitness room. Living outdoor in Hawaii is great but we really would have liked the balance. I would also say this isn't a super friendly resort for kids. The pools are a bit small for them and only one small activity room exists which we never saw in use. Enjoy

This place was really beautiful. Right on the beach (or lava field really - no beach). Spacious room in the condos. Ours was a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom with kitchen, living room and porch. The concierge was very helpful. Had special things going on most mornings and some afternoons. We didn't really take advantage of them because we had made other plans, but it was good to go to the welcome breakfast to see the array of things to do on the premises and on the island. Would definitely go back here. Very nice. Had a Greek Isles feel with the white building and blue water.

Room Tip: I'm not sure that there is a bad room in the place, but further out towards the beach might be b...

We stayed in room 612 and had an amazing view of the ocean and sunset. The staff was very friendly and the room was clean with everything we needed. We were about a mile south of Kona town with easy access to Alii drive. We were asked once if we wanted to do a time share talk and were not pestered at all after that. Over all we had an amazing trip and I would gladly stay here again.

Our unit was very spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath with complete kitchen and washer and dryer. There was also a nice patio with a partial ocean view. The kitchen was completely equipped and the furnishings looked almost brand new. There are two beautiful pools (one designated 'quiet') that border the shoreline. You can walk on the lava rocks! The property is 0.7 miles from all the action at the top of Ali'i Drive, easy walking distance with wide shoulders on the road. The property is under renovations through the end of 2014. There is a lot of noise - all day. During our stay several unit were having tile floors jack hammered up. Luckily we had activities planned every day around the island so we were not on property all the time. But if you intend to relax in your unit, on your patio or at teh pools wait until the construction is finished.

The units are spacious and most with some view. Two bedroom unit had full kitchen plus washer and dryer. Helps cut down on the amount of clothes needed and food bill by eating in. Resort has cultural activities throughout the week. Educational as well as entertaining evening. Putting this one on the do again list, but for longer stay.

Room Tip: They are remodeling 25 rooms which opens up a great selection of rooms.

We have stayed here twice, both good visits. But what made this last trip wonderful was getting an end room with a huge sprawling lanai and an unencumbered view of the water. We did have some issues with some outlets not working, but that was fixed promptly by the staff. Overall, a great place to stay in Kona.

What a fantastic place to stay. it was quiet, the views were awesome. The perks are great for excursions, I received over 220 dollars off the Maikalei green fee and some great restaurant discounts.. But if you are a smoker, forget it. You were not allowed to smoke on your own balcony. Secondly, smokers were all thrown out to smoke under a big tree by the highway, where strangers (joggers, walkers, and host of others) stared at you in disgust. Of course, you couldn't sit there with a hat and a lid over your coffee. The geckos would drink you coffee, and the birds would poop on your head and in your drink. Later they moved the designated smoking place to another outside parklng lot that was inside the complex. Again the area was under a tree near the outside grill. Don't worry about the smoke from the barbeque pit. If you were there longer than 5 minutes, the sprinklers would come on and soak you and the entire smoking area.
