We loved staying at the Boyntons' Bed and Breakfast. We felt totally surrounded by nature, whether the luscious tropical growth or the sound of birds and the green parrots in the morning. Quite a paradise with a beautiful view down toward Kona and the ocean While only 5-10 minutes to the heart of Kona, we were really away from all the hubbub.

Tracy is a wonder hostess, and was very helpful, always asking if we needed anything else. She had good advice about places to go, things to see. The place is also very well stocked so you have anything you need -- whether a cooler to carry food, mats for the beach, or saran wrap and zip lock bags. There was a hot tub right outside our door, although we did not use it.

The king size bed has wonderful views of the vista down to the ocean or their beautiful yard. The apartment is spacious with room for 4, and we appreciated having that extra room, a large refrigerator, microwave, stove top, etc.

I would sure like to come here again if we visit the Big Island in the future.

Room Tip: Plumeria suite is bigger than the other suite, but have not seen that one.

I. have stayed at the Boynton's B&B for each of of my five visits to Kona. The hosts are warm and wonderful people that have a wealth of island info. The lushness of the location is in contrast to the black lava desert of the lower coast. Very nice grounds. There is a lot to do on the island just make sure you leave time to sit back and relax there.
Be sure to watch for the green flash as the orange sun dips below the horizon at sunset

My last visit we were unable to spend our entire duration at the Boynton's due to new incoming guests. Arrangements were made FOR US at a hotel in town. What great service with so much class.

Don't forget to sign and read the guest book.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Boynton's. The Plumeria suite was very spacious, with a very comfortable king size bed in the master bedroom and two single beds in another room. There was a large living area, full kitchen and spacious bathroom. The balcony was huge and was perfect for watching the sunset - there is even a hot tub on the balcony.
We prefer having some independence when we travel, which is one reason we chose to stay here - breakfast items were provided in the room to enjoy at your convenience, rather than breakfast being served at a set time. This really suited us.
The Boyntons themselves were extremely friendly and easygoing. We were made to feel very welcome! Their friendly dog Coco came to visit us every morning.
The only issue we had was that I am a very light sleeper and we could hear people moving around above us (the room was located underneath the main house). But we would definitely stay here again, it was fantastic for exploring the Kona side of the Big Island.

This was our first stop on our road trip of Hawaii -Big Island. We spent 3 nights here. The B & B is very close to the centre of Kona just 5 minutes in the car -although its not walkable.

In the evenings, we would sit on the verandah drinking a glass of wine and plan our next day's action.

The king sized bed was very comfortable and the shower was great as well.

Breakfast food is left in your fridge and you can request a top up of whatever you need, whenever you need it. Eating breakfast on the verandah was a lovely start to the day.

Overall, the Boyntons was very peaceful and private and I would highly recommend it.

This B & B was great for a couple or family who like a bit of independence. The Plumera Suite similar to a small apartment. There was a masterbedroom with the best kingsized bed we experienced in all of the big island. Then there was another room with two twin beds, a full sized bathroom with a large counter and a kitchen/livingroom area. Instead of a cooked breakfast served at a designated time, we were provided, eggs, fruit, bread, milk and juice and had the freedom of enjoying whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted it on the balcony overlooking the Kona Coast. The Boynton's gave great advice on where to dine and what attractions to see. The only thing I would change is maybe add an extra towel or two. Great value for your vacation money.

Boynton's B&B was our fourth and final accommodation on our Aug 2011 Hawaiian vacation...and served as our base for the western side of the Big Island. It did not disappoint!

The two bedroom Plumeria suite was the perfect size for our family of four, with the two twin beds in the second bedroom working out just right for our two teens (ages 13 & 15). The suite itself is basically the entire main floor of the Boynton's house with the aforementioned bedrooms, a good-sized bathroom, and a living/kitchen area.

The suite was spotless upon our arrival and the kitchen counter, cupboards and fridge were stocked with breakfast fixings that easily lasted us for the three nights of our stay. Unlike most B&B's, Boynton's B&B has a do-it-yourself breakfast which suited us just fine as we were winding down our vacation with a last few relaxing days. Each morning, we had a lovely breakfast of fruit, cereal, eggs, etc at the table on the front deck overlooking the Kona coast.

Actually, the view from the deck was just amazing and a highlight of our stay here. Although quite a few miles away from the ocean, the location of the B&B up the side of the mountain allowed for a gorgeous perspective. It was great just sitting on the deck (or in the hot tub) with a good book and enjoying a beautiful sunset.

We never did actually meet the Boynton's (they were on vacation themselves at the time). However, their housesitter, Kathee, greeted us warmly and was there whenever we had some questions. Coco (the dog) was also very friendly and strolled by to visit a few times to make sure we were doing OK.

As long as you don't mind being 10 minutes out of town and away from the ocean, we would definitely recommend Boynton's B&B!

My partner and i stayed here over the christmas holidaze and loved it. it really isn't a B&B in the traditional sense, rather an entire floor of a house overlooking the Kona coast - two separate bedrooms, nice living area, a full kitchen, a nice master and bath and porch along with a hot tub. the Boyntons don't bother you with small talk and intrusions. they stock the larder and fridge prior to your arrival with breakfast goodies and if you run low you simply walk next door to their house (all on the same property) and either tell them what you need or leave a note. when you return they will have restocked the supplies.

this is literally 5 minutes up the road from the Wal Mart, Safeway, and Kona Natural Foods stores in the Kona Shopping Center. it is a great location with easy access to Waimea, Kona, and the highway leading south and north.

we are VERY CHOOSEY about where we stay. the Boyntons will have repeat guests for sure!
