One of my favorite beaches on the big island, picture perfect, easy to access white sand beach. Parking lot is small so get there early. Good snorkeling on the right side of the beach. Bring lots of sunscreen, there is little shade on this one.

We came here following the herds... we left un-impressed. Bad parking, poor visibility, and rude locals. There are other much better beaches along the coast. Head farther south.

Great beach close to Kona. Loved the nice sand, good wave action and the vibe on the beach. One of our favorites on the Big Island.

Beautiful clear water and very sheltered. We took our kids there and saw so many different kids of fish. There were also some sea turtles there that day. The parking lot can sometimes be packed (it is not a big parking lot). This is one of the best protected snorkeling spots that is great for kids in Hawaii.

My wife and I visited Kua Bay on a Tuesday morning. We stayed about 2 hours. The sand was nice and fluffy. Great beach for swimming. The water was so clear. no problem seeing the bottom. The day we were there it was not crowded at all. There is no shade there so bring an umbrella. That is why we did not stay long. Parking was easy, but walking down to the beach from the end of the walk was a little tricky. Have to be careful navigating the rocks. We enjoyed our time there.
