Leave the hotel or resort beach for a day and come here. The turn is located at 19.793558,-156.004876, across from the entrance to the veterans cemetery, actually between MM 88 and 89, which is S of MM88. The road is so good they have speed bumps on it to slow you down, not dirt. Soft sand beach with no rocks great for digging and castles. Lots of surf today for body boarding and fun. If you like wave pools at the inland water parks, this is your place. Keep an eye on the little ones, but families having a blast. Limited parking-come early or prepare to walk.

When does rugged enter the lexicon of holiday jargon?..... when you visit the rugged beauty of this coastline which harbours a couple of scenic beaches where kayaking, swimming and snorkelling come to life.
Kua Bay's beach is the most stunning bay you will ever encounter.... the water is crystal clear, deep aquamarine and peaceful (in summer). The beach is a stretch of fine white sand and little shade, however, it is gob-smacking beautiful.
Once you feel relaxed enough, move on to Napoopoo Beach Park, which ,i am certain, will titillate your children ,no end,as they pronounce it over and over. Be that as it may,the shoreline is rocky with only a sliver of beach surrounded by high green cliffs.
We came to kayak and were not dissappointed, what with the marine life aplenty including reef fish corals and a pod of dolphins that broke water, almost tipping us over in our surprise.

This is a great little beach to go to to just have a nice relaxing day in Hawaii. The beach itself is not big but it wasnt crowded either when I went. The water here is just perfect and what you imagine when you think "Hawaii". The water was calm too and no real reef to watch out for. Oh yeah, and the white sand is very, very nice too.

My wife and I went to the beach this morning at around 9:30. The timing was perfect as there were only 3 other people there and we were able to get a great parking spot and location on the beach. The sand is soft and feels like sugar and the water is warm, clean and clear. This is definitely the best beach I've ever been to.

The crowd definitely picks up around 11:30am and all privacy is lost. People compete for spots and the ocean gets crowded. Getting there early is highly recommended.

And bring an umbrella, there is very limited shade.

White soft sand, very nice waves and lava rocks around the beach. That pretty much sums it up and is definitely worth a visit. Just bring some drinking water with you as there are just showers and restrooms at the beach.
