The Blue Lagoon is absolutely amazing in its own right! It was perfect for us, our three adult sons and our daughter-in-laws. Plenty of space for everyone and the kitchen had everything we needed to make those wonderful nights grilling dinner on the large lanai so easy. We gathered there many evenings to enjoy a family meal together, a glass of wine, and a spectacular sunset.
The location of the property could not have been any better. We were so close to everything we wanted to do. Downtown Kailua-Kona was just a short distance away, and Magic Sands/White Sands Beach was just down the street. We enjoyed walking there to watch the sun take its final, often breathtaking, dip below the ocean horizon. I even jumped into the waves one evening for some spontaneous body surfing!
One of our favorite snorkeling spots was also close by, so no matter what adventure we had planned for the day, we were also able to fit in my favorite past time, snorkeling. My husband and our sons even enjoyed paddle boarding and surfing there, too. The house has everything you need for a day at the beach and snorkeling, too. If you don't want to walk or drive to all the nearby activities, Mike and Laura have also provided bicycles. Our family went exploring on those a few times during our stay and really enjoyed themselves.
We stayed at The Blue Lagoon for almost two weeks and all of us were very sad to leave the house and Hawaii. We really felt welcome and truly at home.
Mike and Laura were a pleasure to work with and their home is everything they said it would be and then some. We also can't say enough good things about their property manager, Cassie. She was always just a call or a text away if we needed anything at all.
This was a very special vacation for our family. We were celebrating major life events and significant milestones together. The Blue Lagoon and the Big Island of Hawaii actually surpassed our high expectations. Perfect in every way!
Mahalo, Mike and Laura!
A hui hou!

This is a bit South of the main hub of Kona, so there wasn't as much traffic or noise. It was an easy 5-10 minute walk to Magic Sands beach. The house itself was ideal for a family reunion with plenty of bathrooms for the many bedrooms. The kitchen was well equipped with all the necessities as well as some luxuries. The only problems we encountered were extremely dull knives and a microwave that appeared to be coming loose from the wall. The home and pool area were very clean. There were pool toys and towels provided. Parking was slightly inconvenient for more than two cars as some would have to back out to let others out.
The Blue Lagoon Kona Rental is always a great place to visit! It's close to everything and minutes from the beach and snorkeling! Always clean and the pool is refreshing! If you are looking for a place to relax or the perfect hub for all your Big Island adventures... this is the perfect spot!
This place is amazing. It is in a perfect location to capture the entire Hawaii experience. 1 minute from some of the best sunsets Ive ever seen. Its a few minutes from some of the best eateries on the Island. Some of the best snorkeling spots are a half hour or less away. The house itself is incredible. The rooms are set up perfectly for individual or group stay. The upstairs deck and living room are perfect for sunsets as well. When not at the beach, the pool was such a great place to relax and enjoy the day. There was so much positive energy in the home, I wanted to move there! I loved it!
Our stay at Mike and Laura's Blue Lagoon Home was epic! The well designed home is wonderfully decorated with tasteful art and comfortable furniture. The individual coffee makers, refrigerators and microwaves in each room are such a nice touch! Our group utilized them extensively. The main kitchen is extremely well outfitted with cooking utensils which is extremely important to us. Mahalo for that!! The kitchen proximity to the upstairs lanai and BBQ is such a plus!! Excellent morning coffee area and evening sunset watching!!
The pool is wonderful.. so nice to relax by it in the morning or evening after a day of fun snorkeling and bike riding. The neighborhood setting is relaxing, even though it is only a block from the popular and outstanding White Sands Beach! The morning bike rides to snorkel at Kahalu'u Beach were fantastic! A great way to start the day!
Even though we did not have small children with us, I was impressed with the amenities that were provided for families with little ones! There are child gates to block the stairs, high chairs, etc readily available. Nice touch!
So much snorkel gear, boogie boards, bicycles and beach equipment available!! Nice!
The overall Aloha and charm that this home exudes is fantastic. Paradise! It is obvious with all of the amenities, cleanliness and charm that Mike and Laura take great pride of ownership in their vacation home. Thanks for sharing your home and aloha with us!

is the feeling the home gives you. Being so close to the shore was one of the highlights specially for the early morning walks and sunset views. Magic Sands beach is also just around the corner! The house features all of the amenities you need including an outdoor grill for some great BBQs and a pool for the kiddos. Definitely an awesome place to stay with the family!
From the moment we arrived we knew we had arrived to Paradise. Not only because we were on the Big Island but because the house was perfect in every way. The house is so well kept, the house manager is so helpful and responsive, everything you can think of possibly needed was already in the house. We forgot to buy a few things at Costco on our way in and to our surprise the house was already stocked with anything we possibly needed. The vibe in the community is amazing! You can feel the love around you. Our family won't be staying anywhere else when we head back to Kona. The day we arrived back home to LA we immediately had people asking us how to book the house because of all the beautiful photos we had posted. Kona's sunset is gorgeous but not as gorgeous as watching it from the comfort of your vacation rental. One morning I woke up and looked out our window and there was a cruise ship in the distant water. The sites and sounds from the home are unbelievable. I wouldn't honestly recommend staying anywhere else. It was so convenient to get up, make up breakfast, pack lunch for the day and head out to our excursions for the day. And then coming back home to make dinner, have a few cocktails and not worry about driving or ubering anywhere. In fact we had a few friends that were staying on the island over for dinner and they all said they wished they would have rented the home before us. One morning I woke up and went for a light jog along the coast just one block from the house. I ran along the coast for about three miles and then returned back to the house and enjoyed a nice breakfast in the outdoor family room overlooking the ocean and community around me. We stayed at the house with four other couples and it was great how everyone had their own shower, their own entrance, their own mini fridge, and coffee pot. The most famous snorkeling spot in Kona is just half a mile away from the house. And Magic Sands beach which has the best sunset view is also only a block away. Downtown Kona is about a 5 minute drive away as well. The Luau we went to which was also amazing was only a five minute drive. Green Sand Beach one of only four of its kind in the world is an hour drive from the house with stunning views of the coast the whole way. I can't say enough of how amazing this house is. And how easy the process of renting it is. The owners are amazing! And the house management team are exceptional as well! You'd be a fool to stay anywhere else!!!
