My wife, my father and I stayed for 2 nights. It was the best and most beautiful part of our 10 day journey through Alaska. Pat and Dennis are great people and perfect hosts. We learned a great deal about the area and it's history. My father and I really enjoyed canoeing around the lake and seeing all the eagles around it. Breakfast was awesome and Pat's nightly "hand dipped" ice cream bars were a blast. The house was immaculate, very clean and a welcome site! Around the corner was a weir and we saw the salmon running.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms.

Thank you Dan! When a guest who is not the usual "TripAdvisor" travel review writer with lots of reviews makes his FIRST review and it for us! It's a HUGE honor to have you take that step to let us know we were such an important part of your trip and experience!
Dennis is the "professional communicator" with so much information to share about Seward and everything Alaskan - guess that's the psychologist in him. We love Alaska and I guess it really does show! Nothing is more special than our guests sharing a lifetime experience trip with their family and parents or children - we are thrilled to be included.
Very happy you made it out on the lake and enjoyed the wonderful serene beauty and wildlife found there. Again, thank you for the review and great comments of the special pluses of staying with us!

Wonderful stay, spacious, easy to find, great location! Myself, husband and son stayed one night and wish we could have stayed longer. We arrived to friendly innkeeper Deloha. Got settled, went to dinner at recommended restaurant, had the best salmon dinner of our trip. Arrived back to Bear lodge in time for ice cream hand dipped in chocolate and rolled in your choice of Oreo or nuts, mmmmmm. Great night sleep, beds very comfortable, room and bathroom spotless. It was raining when we arrived so I got up early went out on the lake in kayak supplied, loved this lake and the mountain views, so peaceful. Got back to hot coffee and wonderful hot breakfast, plenty of food even my son was full and loved the food! We set off to our next location and quickly found out how good we had it at Bear Lake Lodge! Pam gave us some additional help after we left the B&B when we were trying to find accommodations for a change in our travel plans. Really a staff and owners that go above and beyond. Thank you!

Wonderful location on Bear Lake with a bald eagle's nest on the property. The rooms are comfortable and Deloha made us feel at home and provided a delicious breakfast. Yummy hand dipped ice creams are served every night. Luckily the weather broke long enough for us to use the complimentary kayaks for a short ride on the lake. Overall a great experience, and highly recommended.

Eagles are found throughout Alaska, but we are so excited to have a nest in easy view from our home. We have been having fun following them nesting and now able to see the baby eaglets (2) in the nest and watch the parents feeding them - viewing through our spotting scope on a tripod for all to use. Happy you found that experience as memorable. Thank you for commenting on TripAdvisor and letting others know that their experience at Bear Lake will be one they will enjoy!

This place ticks all the boxes. Scenic location, Adorable log cabin right on the lake, check. Warm inviting common areas, comfortable, well-appointed bedrooms, check. Spotlessly clean, check. Over the top breakfast, check........added bonus, evening ice cream treats, even better.
Friendly guests, charming owners, and the most delightful Innkeeper (Daloha), check. Wouldn't change a thing. We stayed three days at the end of an amazing two weeks spent in Alaska. As wonderful as the rest of our vacation was, I am glad that Seward and Bear Lake Lodgings came at the end. It was the cherry on top of a perfect vacation!

Room Tip: We chose the Mt. Tiehacker room. It was a bit cheaper than some of the others and rather than a kin...

There are automobiles and there is Ferrari. There are B&B's a and there is Bear Lake Lodgings. Many will comment on the pristine first glimpse of the house and dock with the iconic Alaskan float plane sitting alongside. Then there is the ready and immediate access to kayaks and canoes on an inviting two mile long lake.

Others will rave over the sumptuous breakfasts or the nightly dipping of the ice cream bars in luscious chocolate with crushed almonds or Oreos. You can't escape the exquisite appointments of the suites and the serene views from the multiple decks.

All of those items are on the mark, however what places Bear Lakes Lodgings above any and all is the warmth and passion of the owners, Pat & Dennis and innkeeper Daloha. They make memories. Spending four nights with my daughter and four grandchildren (ages 9-17) created memories that will last their lifetime and those memories will be infused with the time spent at Bear Lake Lodgings.

My daughter said it best as we turned off Bear Lake Road toward Anchorage, "as far as I'm concerned, I would have been thrilled to spend our entire time in Alaska right here".

Room Tip: We stayed in the two larger suites and they were perfect in every way. Extremely kid friendly.

This B&B sits on a peaceful lake, with beautiful views. Kayaks and canoes are available to the guests. We were only there for one night and we wish we had more time to explore the lake. The home is immaculate, appointed perfectly with lots of personal touches made by Pat. And the breakfast was delicious!! A baked apple french toast. Pat also has an ice cream business... and although we missed the evening treats, she made us some ice cream nuggets for breakfast! Also delicious. Her knowledge of the area guided us to an excellent restaurant for dinner. We wish we had more time there.

Thank you for noticing all the little extras in our B&B to make it feel like home. I've enjoyed sewing many of the small items to add to that comfortable fee. The Baked Apple French Toast has been one of our popular full breakfast menu items. I"m sure you won't miss the Ice Cream Bar treats in the evening next time. YUMMY! Hope Alaska calls you back soon!

Peace and Quiet. Friendly and welcoming owners. Pat's amazing ice-cream. Spectacular beauty. The ice-cream. Great breakfasts. Incredible ice-cream. Close to Seward & Exit Glacier. Oh... that ice-cream. Canoe and kayak on a pristine lake while watching the eagles....thinking about the ice-cream. Hike or run on the original Iditarod Trail just down the road (before your ice-cream). And, did I mention the ice-cream!?
We spent 2 nights at Bear Lake - staying in the Lakeside Suite. It was very quiet, with easy access through a private entrance and a beautiful lakeside deck. Would recommend it to anyone wanting to visit the Seward area!

That is one of my FAVORITE reviews! I have been serving Alaskans hand dipped ice cream bars for 30 years..... there is a reason they come back to the festivals yearly to enjoy them - they are AWESOME! This reviewer is proof that they are YUMMY and the perfect ending to a busy Alaska touring day. I'm thrilled you two managed to fit so many great local activities into your schedule between all those ice cream bars. Thank you for the wonderfully delicious comments and I hope to share some stories with you again at ice cream time - 8:00-8:30 PM daily at Bear Lake Lodgings. Come on back - we soooo enjoyed your company and winter has great skiing - Alaska isn't just for summer visits - we are open in the WINTER where you can leave your ice cream outside!
