Nice place but the cabin is too small. No place for luggage, no hangers or dressers. The bed has a queen on the bottom and a bunk on top and jammed up against the wall. You have to crawl over the person next to you to get out of bed. The owner is very nice and breakfast is very good.

Room Tip: Stay in the Lodge. It seems to have larger rooms.

Salmon Bake is a great combination of convenient location, comfortable lodging, warm atmosphere and an exceptional restaurant. Located just off the main road north of Seward and a short distance from the famous Exit Glacier, Salmon Bake is in a beautiful wooded location. The cabins look rustic on the outside, but inside they are spacious, clean and well appointed, including very good lighting. Right next door is the Salmon Bake restaurant, which has a mid-scale menu featuring lots of fresh fish dishes, deli sandwiches and steaks. The food there was really quite exceptional for such a small town. It was far better than the well known restaurant in town where we had lunch.

My only complaint is that, like many businesses in Alaska, the staffing levels are too low to provide fast, efficient service. Each employee seems to have multiple jobs and you often have to wait for somebody to help you - even to check in/out!

Still, we enjoyed our stay here and would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a cabin farther away from the restaurant for extra privacy and quiet.

We booked one of the Salmon Bake Cabins after reading quite a lot of positive reviews on Tripadvisor. To be honest I think this place (cabins and restaurant) is overrated en outdated, not the lodge, thats a nice, new, wellmaintaned place. We slept three days in cabin 2, which was clean and had a large bathroom. we didn't like the the rustic bedside, beds were to soft. TV wasn't working well, fridge and coffeemachine were OK. The cabins are not in parklike surroundings but on the edge of the parking of the Salmon Bake restaurant, a popular place in Seward. We had a salmon meal, but found it average at the least. Interior of the restaurant did meet up with our standards, uncomfortabel seating and noisy. There are far better places in Seward.

Room Tip: I would recommend the lodge, not the cabins.

I don't think you can beat the price of these cabins for accommodation anywhere in Alaska. The beds were comfortable, and there was enough room for our suitcases. The bathrooms were spartan but clean, and we never had to wait for one. The location is great, with shuttles to Denali Park either at the Salmon Bake or across the street at the Princess Lodge, and it is even walkable if you're up for a hike (about one mile?) They picked us up at the train station when we arrived. There is a very steep short climb up from the street to the cabins, so if you're fit and don't mind simple accommodation, this is perfect!

Cozy, clean and comfortable! We had the front cabin but it still felt rustic, and it's a great place to start your day trip hiking or whatever you want to do. When you return, you are conveniently next to a great little restaurant to get some good food and beer--and not have to worry about driving home! The place is simple but I very much enjoyed it!

Room Tip: No pool or fitness! Get out and enjoy what Alaska has to offer!

We stayed 2 nights. When we checked in we found out that cable was not working and they said they would have it checked out the next day. The next day they found that cable company needed to be called and it would not be fixable until several days later.
Although they offered to move us into lodge, we chose not to have to pack up and move everything. Wifi (as stated at all times) was available only at the lodge and did not reach the cabins. They not only offered the move to the lodge, but also provided free breakfast (which is not offered in cabins).
So..... staff very friendly and helpful. Room not really ready for the summer season that was about to start.
Cabin was very rustic, but with refrigerator and microwave. Bed was a bit awkward, it was against the wall and had a bunk above with ladder at the foot, so it was difficult for inside person to get in and out of bed without disturbing other person.

Room Tip: Cabins are much more economical, but don't provide the same ammenities as lodge rooms. Cabin 1 h...

Great Cabins. Located on the road to Exit glacier. Parking was very convenient. Salmon Bake restaurant is across the parking lot. Owners were great. Excellent value. Will definitely stay here again when in Seward.
