“Better than expected!”
Reviewed 18 August 2014 via mobile

After reading a few reviews I was nervous about the cabin that I booked. But, upon arrival I was delighted! We stayed in cabin 1. The cabin is simple & rustic but it was exceedingly clean & very comfortable & cozy, we had plenty of room & slept very well. The breakfast in the morning next door was awesome!

We had a great stay at the Salmon Bake cabins in Seward. The cabins were clean and comfortable. We had a coffee maker and small refrigerator in the cabin which was nice for putting in some snacks for hiking and leftover meals from the restaurant. The price for the cabins were very reasonable, especially for Alaska. The Salmon Bake restaurant had great food and a good selection so we had lots to choose from during our 3 day stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful when we were asking about hiking and other activities in the Kenai Fjords/Seward area. The girl at the lodge desk (I think her name was Brittany) even had fresh baked cookies which were in the common area in the lodge! A nice touch!

We stayed in three different places in Seward (we just didn't want to leave) and this was our favorite. We had a first floor room in the lodge. It was just the right size for the king size bed and had all the amenities that we needed. The owner greeted us and later had fresh chocolate chip cookies to share. When we discovered the refrigerator wasn't working, she took it out and got another. We had an excellent dinner next door and a great nights sleep. We wish we had found the Salmon Bake Cabins and Exit Glacier Lodge when we first got there.

Room Tip: The first floor rooms are convenient and quiet.

We stayed 2 night at the Salmon Bake. The cabin was more basic than I expected with just a tiny, little window, looking out on the neighbours property. I expected the cabin to be A) a standalone cabin and B) to have a little kitchenette to prepare a simple breakfast. The cabin we had, nr. 4, was not standalone and there were in the cabin a coffee maker, a little refrigator and a microwave, but no cuttleries or possibility to make a simple breakfast. To be honest, on their website they don't state that cabins are standalone nor that they have a kitchenette. It is just based on our expectations we had, of all the cabins we stayed in during our vacation in Alaska.
Salmon Bake on the other hand was very clean, the towels were nice, shower was good and the beds were comfortable. So, after all, we did have a good stay and given the price, I would still recommend the cabins. Just know that the cabin is basis! The restaurant on the site was very good! We ate dinner twice and both times it was excellent. The restaurants offers a breakfast for $7 for guests. We didn't have breakfast, so I don't know how it is.

I recently stayed at Salmon Bake cabins for 3 nights and i must say i thoroughly enjoyed my stay in seward. The cabin was really cute, cosy and extremely efficient, no i don't mean small. Rather thge cabin was self contained with a large comfortable queen size bed and two single bunks. Also has an ensuite with toilet and shower. The cabin also has a small fridge, microwave and cable tv ( if you so desire ). Finally and equally important the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The ownser also could do enough to assist, thank you Sarah for you kind hospitality! I would have no problem recommending this or have any issues staying here again.

Cute little cabin. Ours had a private bath. The room is pretty small, but the bathrooms were big. Very clean and comfy. The towels were nice and fluffy. Very reasonable for Seward. the cabins are kind of in the parking lot, so don;t expect a cabin in the woods. We stayed two nights. would definitely stay there again.

We stayed in the Seward area for three nights. Loved our cabin, cozy and comfortable. We also had dinner two nights in the Salmon bake Rest. and enjoyed the meal as well as the service. We would definitely recommend others to stay at the Salmon Bake. The cook at breakfast was also very friendly and took time to talk about the area with us.
