Great location. Can walk to SeaLife Center and many restaurants. Short drive to boat docks for Fjord tours. Great, extensive continental breakfast - and early hours to be able to make it to tours. Business services, like printing and fax complimentary.

Other than nothing to provide any airflow through the room during a week of warm temperatures the stay was great. Comfortable room, reliable internet, decent restaurant if you're there on business and aren't interested in hitting the town looking for a tourist trap to squeeze into with all the cruise ship guests.

This hotel is in the downtown section of Seward one to two blocks from a number of restaurants and across the street from the Sea Life aquarium. Overnight parking is a block up the street. The interior decor of the lobby is rather rustic with some knotty pine beams and such. Our room was quite comfortable though a bit on the small side for three adults. The two queen beds plus our three suitcases seemed to fill the room. The room was attractive and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had the sink outside of the tub/toilet area which is nice. The included buffet breakfast is rather conventional anymore with a waffle maker, hot and cold cereal options, bread/pastry, drinks, etc. It was very nice and satisfying.

We were able to walk to the harbor for our tour of the Kenai Fjords National Park. It is a half hour or less walk along the water front. Part of the walk is past RV parks which are not so nice, but you are not far from the water and you are outdoors. Alaska is such a lovely place that just being outdoors and in sight of the surrounding mountains in Seward was nice. We did have nice weather which helped, of course.

We stayed one night after a cruise, paid $153 in late-July. What a pleasant front desk staff; they held our bags since the room wasn't ready. The attractive lobby has local restaurant menus in a binder and a piano to use! The breakfast was very good with eggs, bacon, waffle maker, breads and muffins, English muffins, bagels, cereals, and oatmeal pockets. Our room had a balcony over looking the lobby - kind of cute!! The bathroom sink is outside bathroom; you may or may not like that. Room includes a MWO, refrig, coffee maker, and wifi. Quiet and clean, but the bed was on the too-soft side for me. Good location - Sea Life Center and waterfront are across the street; harbor is a 15-minute walk; plenty of restaurants nearby, or walk into the harbor area and eat there. We also walked a few blocks to get the$10/pp shuttle to Exit glacier. That was money well-spent;just be aware the last shuttle leaves the glacier at 5pm. Don't miss a Kenai Fjords national park boat trip!!

We booked the Wednesday prior to our stay making a last minute weekend away from Anchorage. When I called to see if we could upgrade our room and change the credit card on Friday early-afternoon, they said I didn't have a reservation and that they would gladly book a room for me at $50 more than what I originally booked because I didn't have a reservation number with me. I booked and stayed at the room anyway not knowing who, at the number I had called (the same number for the hotel FYI) two days prior had my credit card number. The morning of our stay I woke up itching my knees and ankles, despite having worn jeans and long sleeves while out and about. Throughout the day after our stay, more bites over my elbows came to light. Basically paid $225 for bed bugs and a lackluster location for all that Seward has to offer. Go with a local hotel in Seward, folks. The Best Western and chains in general have nothing to offer you in Alaska and have a higher rate.

Room Tip: Don't stay here. Find a locally owned with genuine owners.

Nice hotel in downtown Seward convenient to everything. We could even walk to the boat harbor which is a little outside of the downtown area. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Staff was friendly and accomodating. Only downside was that we we're given a room with no window so we had no views of what is a beautiful area. Pricey but everthing in Alasksa is so price was typical. Would definitely recommend.

Room Tip: Get a room with a window!

After a lot of research and discussion, we finally settled on the Edgewater Hotel. We are SO glad we did, because we had the best sleep we have had for a long time. The hotel had opened the week before for the season; everything was clean and freshly painted. The staff was very helpful and answered all of our questions with great patience! The breakfast was typical of hotel free food, plentiful, and a clean area.
There is a great Italian restaurant a block away right across from the Alaska Sealife Center. On that same street is a really neat material shop that is open year round.
We also went fishing while we were in Seward, and Miller's Landing was just down the road. You can cross the road from the hotel toward the water to enjoy the park and some 'monuments' for the Iditarod and other historical events of the area.
All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Edgewater and would definitely go back if we were ever to stay in the area again!
