Perfect location in a Seward. Right in the middle of shops, restaurants, the public beach, and the sea life center. Staff was friendly and offered suggestions for things to do in town. Room was clean and our room was located inside so we had no issues with the constant sunlight!

Room Tip: Ask for an interior room if sunlight bothers your sleep.

We took the Alaska Railroad to Seward and spent one night. We were at the Best Western Plus Edgewater. We found the desk staff to be flawless. They helped us with a wonderful room and great advice in dining and getting around. Theyu were also helpful with our bags before check in and after checkout. The staff was a also helpful with the hotel shuttle. Saving the best for last, the hotel's location gives fantastic views of Resurrection Bay. When return to Seward we will try to stay here again.

My friend and I stayed here just last week. There was confusion at the desk as to if the room had been paid for or not. My friend had reserved the room months ago, and was told that she needed to pay for the night in advance. Phoned again in April, to change the reservation to two beds, instead of one king size, and the same information was given. When we arrived last week, the hotel staff was adamant that they had not been paid. It was something that had not been planned for, and so it came as a surprise to hand over a credit card, when you assumed it was already taken care of.
We had other friends staying there as well, and they were staying two nights. They had the same problem, being told that they had to pay for one night in advance when they initially reserved the place. She was also surprised to find out at check in that she owed them for two nights, not just the second night.
Not sure where the communication breakdown happened, but it is something to be aware of if you are not making a reservation with the hotel directly in Seward. A man did call the room and had a conversation with my friend about the dilemma.
The room itself was fine, with a fridge and a microwave. Our view was over the street, so the small balcony wasn't used.
Our friends' room had the amazing view overlooking Resurrection Bay. They watched seals and other sea creatures right from their room.
The parking for this hotel is up the road a block away. You can park on the road in front, but it is only two hours of free parking during the day. After five, you will be okay to leave the car there. I would not want to leave my car up the road, that far away from the hotel.
Breakfast was okay. The waffles are always good. Don't like powdered eggs though! Lots of choices there for cereal and baked goods. Hard boiled eggs were "real", but didn't try one.

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view of the bay! Some rooms open right onto the lobby. I don't think I would like those at all.

Stayed here for two nights. Our room was on the second floor and was extremly stuffy and loud from guests on the third floor. Thermostat was finnicky, but the room had a ceiling fan at least. Beds were comfortable and large. Hotel had decent, normal continental breakfast with cereal and warm foods. Very very clean and well maintained. Front desk was very friendly and helped to arrange a shuttle to the Kenai Fjords tour port for us with no extra cost. Right across the road from the Sea Life Center, and one street over from all major dining options. Right across the road from the water with close, front of hotel parking. Great place to stay in Seward, but make sure to ask for third floor rooms!!

Room Tip: Get a room on the third floor to avoid noisy guests from above.

Best Western in Seward is a clean, comfortable hotel near the water's edge a block from the Alaskan Sea Life Center. Great location near a FREE shuttle bus that picks up in front of the Sea Life Center, also the BW offers a free shuttle until 6:00 each day. They shuttled us to the cruise dock in the afternoon after storing our luggage for the morning hours. Rooms are spacious with a frig, microwave, coffee maker and sink separate from the shower. (Love that) Breakfast was good with lots of variety like breads, danishes, dry cereal, fruits, juices, sausage, eggs, biscuits & gravy. (eggs not so good though) Stayed 2 nights before the cruise and was walking distance to great downtown restaurants, Sea Life Center, the Exit Glacier Shuttle Service and the Downtown Kayak Adventures Worldwide. (All worthwhile things to do in Seward) Enjoy!

Room Tip: Inside rooms with no windows are a great deal plus with sunlight all night long the rooms were nice & dark!
