They need to improve their beers. They only started in 2012 and they are not as good at brewing as the other Alaskan brewers..however, still great to try their samplers - only 3 left for us as they had run out of the stout and won't brewing any more that year?! Standard bar food and nice ambiance.

The food was good, staff was super friendly and service was quick. We ordered a couple appetizers and soup for dinner and with a handful of beers the bill was $70 for 2 people. But one of the things we ordered was 1lb crab legs that were $40. I was surprised at the cost of the crab legs but thought since we were in Alaska we should have Alaskan king crab. Overall I thought the prices were average from other places we ate.

We first visited this place on Labor Day weekend in 2012. When we returned last month we were disappointed to find that their brewed beer on tap was kinda bland and watery and their food was too greasy. We ordered the pita and hummus appetizer and discovered that while their hummus was pretty tasty, the pita wasn't all that good. Then my wife ordered a plate of halibut for $26 and they only brought four small strips (think fish sticks) of fried halibut that was pretty greasy. The plate was mostly store bought french fries. I felt that was a lot of money for such little bit of fish. Our server said that the price of halibut had sky-rocketed recently, but it isn't nearly that high here in the interior where the closest halibut is several hundred miles away.

Nothing here was really all that bad and their service was really good, but we were so disappointed after our great experience the year before. I give it a weak 3 stars.

A well decked out new bar and restaurant in Seward on the main strip. (Several other places on 3rd Avenue are quite dingy). We had a few beers (good selection) and the food was good quality bar food (fish/seafood especially).

Eat and drink at SBC a couple times a week. Always enjoy the staff and the laid back vibe of the place. The food is good and the locally brewed beer is great.
