Cute small house very convenient to central downtown Seward -- less than 5 min walk to restaurants, coastal walking trail, sealife center, and walkable in 15+ to harbor and train station.
Everything was neat and clean. Carol left coffee, tea, hot chocolate and instant oatmeal for us--- enough to get us through the mornings and on to our day.
I personally stayed in the loft and it was very comfortable and easy to access with the gentle spiral stairs.
The darkening shades were a great plus given the time of year. Beds were very comfortable. The washer and dryer were convenient as well.
There was a little front porch for sitting outside with a wooden bench- not super comfortable, but still a nice view.
The living area was very small, but since we spent most all of our time outdoors it was fine for the 2 of us. It would be a bit small if there were 4 adults and you spent much time inside.
We were a party of 3 sister, daughter and myself we stayed here for 2 nights prior to our cruise. This place was perfect for the 3 of us. I found it cute and comfortable, Carol has note all through the house on how everything works. There is a full kitchen which we did not use, there is also a washer and dryer, which was perfect we were able to have clean clothes prior to boarding our ship.
Carol went way above and beyond, we had just left and were at the cruise terminal, when I received a text that I had left my camera battery and charger there. She graciously drove out to the terminal and delivered it to me.
If I make it back to Seward this will be where I want to stay,
Our first Trip Advisor rental and we were very happy with the spotless, comfortable, and adorable home. It has a gorgeous view out the kitchen window. Very well stocked with coffee, cocoa, popcorn and more. Comfortable beds with nice linens. Plentiful snowy white towels. True blackout shades in the downstairs bedroom were very much appreciated. Carol is an accommodating and accessible host. We appreciated the comprehensive book of things to do in Seward. Thorough instructions for how everything operated and house rules made settling in easy. Carol obviously takes being a host very seriously. It shows in her attention to detail, comfort and cleanliness. We'd give 10 stars if we could.
Great stay in the cottage. It is compact but generously equipped and has everything you need. There are instructions for each device and activity. The inside seems new and in excelent conditions. The cottage is in a quiet location
towards the end of seward center, yet close to the harbor. Would definitely recommend it.
Extremely clean, with everything you need. Well-equipped kitchen, with coffee provided. Washer, dryer, and laundry detergent provided. Very comfortable. View of water and mountains. Walking distance to Alaska SeaLife Center and waterfront.
Blackout curtains in bedroom for those long summer days.
Great location. Nice view of the bay. Close to both the boat harbor and the Alaska Sea Life center. Great place to stay, Very clean and well maintained. Carol (the owner) was great. Wish we would have spent more time there. I definitely recommend it. Will visit again!.
We stayed at the Birdhouse for 3 nights while visiting Seward . It is in a great location ... close enough to all activities, but far enough away from them to enjoy a quiet place to stay with a nice view .
Our cottage was well equipped with everything that we needed and was comfortable and immaculate .
We really appreciated that we could do some laundry while on our trip !
We would stay here again in a heartbeat if we are fortunate enough to return to Seward !
