We ate here twice during our 4-night stay in Seward and enjoyed our dinner on both occasions. Ray's is a cheerful, busy, food-and-drink focused place with good beer and a reasonable choice of wine at fair prices. Crispy razor clams, planked wild salmon share the list with Thai seafood, pork loin or chopped beef salad. Save a spot for the desserts, like bread pudding or spiced chocolate cake! If you reserve a table (recommended), ask for a window over the fishing harbour. We did, and a sea otter duly entertained us throughout by paddling back and forth in the rain on his back, as they do.

Very pricey, but wonderful ambience, nice view of the harbor, excellent service, and delicious food. Well worth the money when compared to other meals in the area.

Since we were staying at the Holiday Inn, we decided to walk over to Ray's. We got there kind of late for us, maybe 7pm, and there was a 30-35 minute wait. We put our name on the list and sat down to wait. There was a steady stream of people coming in and the wait never seemed to exceed 30-35 minutes. Anyone with reservations was seated right away, so I would recommend making reservations if you don't want to wait.

I think we waited maybe 45 minutes and our party of 5 was finally seated at a table for 8. Most of us weren't super hungry so we decided to just get appetizer or small plates of food. The food was good, but the service was really slow. I'm not sure if it was because they were so busy or if the service is normally that slow. I would like to go back again when I'm not so tired and have more of an appetite. I'd like to sit in the main dining room at a window overlooking the harbor rather than in the bar area though. That may make a difference.

We came here after an entire day of fishing and got some beers and crab cakes. They were the best crab cakes I have ever had!

Good but pricey meal. The view is worth it though, more or less out on the dock. Service was good. Lots of menu choices.
