“Very Nice "Local" Place”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

Had a very nice lunch here, the razor clam appetizer was the highlight - awesome. Had the Rock Fish special of the day, it was cooked perfectly and tasted great - also a really nice portion size. I would have rated them a five but my wife's crab cakes weren't the best, we expected better from a waterfront seafood place. They were good, but not Great like we had at some other Alaska Seafood shops. Service was very good and the Alaska White Ale was Ice Cold.

“The View”
Reviewed 6 June 2014

We went to Chinook's for lunch and found a good selection of midday fare. The view is of the harbor/marina, prices are reasonable and service was quick. The waiter recommended pork carnitas and the green chile burger, both of which were quite good.

“Great meal and a great view”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

Yes, we made a reservation for this place in Seward’s harbor; thank goodness. We had a terrific window table (upstairs) looking out on the small boat harbor, complete with seals frolicking and fisherman filleting their fresh catches. And the place filled up, clearly locals like to eat here. In addition to good service and ambiance, the food was terrific. We had seafood chowder, chicken and black bean soup, Alaskan king crab sliders, salmon tikka skewers, a fabulous salad (hooray vegetables in AK), Alaskan beer, and a coffee-chocolate cake. Everything was delicious and well worth the trip. We certainly hated to leave and give up the table. Just note, the upstairs dining is up a lengthy staircase.

“Chinooks knows how to cook fish!”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Four of us dined at Chinooks in late May of 2014. We all ordered different fish dishes: wild Chinook salmon, sablefish, halibut and rockfish. All were exquisitely prepared and delicious. All the servings were an appropriate size 4-6 ounces of fish plus veggies and rice or potatoes. They were all cooked with skill, moist inside and flaky, and tasty on the outside. An incredibly great dinner given that all four dishes were prepared to embellish each different species of fish to the max. Yep it's a bit pricey, but then it's Alaska and you just have to suck it up on that front. Service was great and recommendations were spot on. This is a dinner place you don't want to miss.

“Waterfront Dining in Seward”
Reviewed 1 June 2014

We ate dinner at Chinook's before high season had arrived, but they were still very busy, filled with what appeared to be "locals." We were seated in a table next to the windows that overlooked the harbor, which was a plus. I had the halibut special, which was cooked perfectly, moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. It was served with summer squash and mushrooms sauteed in butter, rice and a lemon cream sauce. Everything was very good. My husband had salmon with barbecue sauce. The salmon was cooked to perfection, but I thought that the barbecue sauce overwhelmed the fish. My husband, on the other hand, thought it went well together. Our server was friendly and efficient.
