Our waitress appeared to be new, but even taking that into account the service was bad. The restaurant was not very busy at the time either. We ordered an app and the waitress never came back to take our entree order. After the app was done and plates were cleared, we finally saw her again and had to flag her down. Food was ok - king crab legs and sandwiches, but nothing remarkable.

We had to wait some but it was well worth it. Best to have reservations. The portions were large and the prices reasonable.

We were told being in Seward to pay a visit to this place. We can tell you it is worth to pay it a visit bu remember you are in Alaska where things might be different from home. It is a restaurant with the atmosphere of the frontier. Log cabin style with simle seatings.
Menu offers enough to please the majority of the visitors. We enjoyed our meal and thought it a nice place to be. Food was good but not outstanding to our opinion. What a bit annoying was, was the attitude of the waitress. Ordered a double hamburger but got a single. Can happen of course but asking whether it was a single or a double we had to ask twice before we got an answer. Checking the bill, we were charged the double hamburger. Apologies of course from the staff but still not what one may expect from a place like this. It wasn't extremely busy to my opinion so one could have paid proper attention to their guests.
Will we come back? We guess so.

We went to the Salmon Bake on local Joe Allen's recommendation two years ago and visited again on our most recent trip to the area. We actually went two nights in a row--can't imagine eating anywhere else in Seward if you're looking for fresh fish and a great casual atmosphere. The first night I had the ribs and my husband had salmon, the second we had halibut. I NEVER eat fish but after tasting a friend's halibut appetizer we just had to go back the second night for the halibut. If they added WiFi, we'd be here every night!
