Murphy's Alaskan Inn

The room was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. They gave us a sack breakfast because we were leaving early for a fishing trip. The views were amazing: water in one direction and mountains in the other. The biggest hit for us was the rooftop patio and grill. It was a nice place to sit and visit at the end of the day. We were able to grill the halibut we caught that day, yumm! I would stay there again.

The hotel was very clean and the staff was great. Not exactly what I thought it would be as far as the view. But the hotel was very clean and they included breakfast. They also provided a playpen for my daughter (2) to sleep in which was great.

This place was not fancy, but the rooms were comfortable and the staff very helpful. I would stay here again. It was close to the harbor about 1/2 mile & downtown was about a mile, you could walk or take the free shuttle. This place met our needs - thank you.

The Motel is nice, the manager kind and helpful. The room (2 queens) is clean and nice, although not very spacious, including fridge, microwave, etc. There is a cold breakfast, too.
WiFi was weak in the part of the Motel where we were; the manager said this in advance and apologized, they are supposed to fix it.
For the prices in AK and Seward, the 139$ we paid (AAA rate) are reasonable to good value for what we got. We checked and did not find any better in Seward.

We thought the view of the ocean was great---especially watching the boats! We walked to the dock to take a tour. I can't say anything bad about this Inn---

Room Tip: Try to get a room overlooking the ocean!

We selected Murphy's because of it's proximity to the Kenai Fjords tour offices and it was indeed convenient. We arrived around 11 pm after traveling from Florida, so we pretty much hit the sack immediately since our trip into the fjords was first thing in the morning. It's in kind of an industrial-looking part of town and if I were staying more than a night, I would probably have preferred something with a more attractive atmosphere. The room was extremely modest, but clean and had whatever a person would need for an overnight stay. Nice flat screen, greatly appreciated by my husband, but not used except for the weather report the next morning. The little breakfast served in the office was nice and staff kept it stocked. They had no problem with me taking an extra fruit for the boat trip! I do have to say that I thought it was a little overpriced for what it is, but not overly so. You kind of get used to this in Alaska. The staff I interacted with, Zack and Kaylene, were great - very friendly and helpful.

We were a family of four, and we stayed in the room with two large beds for two nights. Although we were on the first floor, the room was clean, it was moderately spacious, the beds were big enough for two adults to share, but the best had to be the tv; lots of channels!

The breakfast was simple yet adequate. There was coffee and a selection of tea sachets, some packaged fruit juices, plain and raisin bagels which could be toasted or eaten with cheese/butter spreads. There were also packaged fruit danishes which were really handy to take on the National Park cruise.

Location was near to the train depot and National Park cruises harbour, just a ten minute walk. Walking to the other end of Seward (the Sealife Centre) took about twenty minutes, which we aren't complaining about. In overall we were satisfied with this hotel and would return here.
