Four of us ate there and we all thought the food was delicious. The fish and chips were particularly outstanding; not greasy at all with very little batter on the fresh fish and the fries were perfectly crunchy. The grilled cheese with ham was inventive and very tasty. And the seafood chowder was yummy. Our waitress was attentive and helpful (running over to assist when we accidentally spilled a water glass). Seemed like the restaurant was mostly filled with locals as we were there in mid-September and there didn't seem to be many other tourists around.

We have gone several times with family and or friends. The food is always very good and they must have changed their recipe for the fish and chips because they are the least greasy in the town of seward! You have to remember that it's a bistro so there aren't a ton of choices, also you are in Seward Alaska so everything costs a lot more. The Gold rush has very good pricing for the the quality of food you will get. The kids menu is awesome and cheap! Most places in Seward you will be spending at least $50 for a date night. At the Gold rush it will only be around $30. The only thing I would change is the waitresses we have had couldn't speak English very well, that's extremely annoying when ordering and since it's a tourist restaurant (only open in summer) I feel like not living here they wouldn't be able to tell tourists very much info about the town or state. Thanks for the great food guys!

Highly recommend fish and chips style halibut - mmmmm! We had fantastic service at dinner and the restaurant staff was just as welcoming when we returned the next day for lunch (and the food/service was just as good as the first time!). Restaurant is not extremely large but is clean and efficient. This was a nice surprise! We'll be back.

If the food tasted like the outside (or the inside, as a matter of fact) looked, it would be a sure-fire one star. Instead we were pleasantly surprised by the good prices (best deal on king crab in Seward) and delicious salmon and halibut. Doesn't serve booze, but you can get that at any of the bars surrounding Gold Rush.

Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior! We came in here for a casual lunch and we were blown away... the clam chowder was awesome. So tasty and better than chowder I have had in Maine.

But the real treat was the Burger. It was so fresh and creative. It melts in your mouth.

On top of all this, the service was amazing! 5 stars! So good, I could go back every day.
