Staff is very good -however the amenities are untenable - the fishing boats and catch are much better in Seward harbor 3 miles away. For example Safari Charters goes 2.5 hours out to sea for large halibut, snapper and ling cod and Millers Landing charges the same for fishing 30 minutes out in the bay - smaller fish and few halibut., small crowded boats.

Management is abrasive with money itheir only concern. Do not stay in cabins, no ventilation, no refunds if you need something else that passes as a living space.

I do not recommend even though the staff was conscientious it is not worth the beating your in for.

Hook,line and Stinker.

View from our campsite on the the bay was great, but sites are close together. Looks like there are some nice wooded sites too. Bathrooms dirty and one stall was out of order the entire time. Laundry very expensive compared to other Alaska campgrounds we've been to. Laundry room also dirty and busy. 1 washer was out of commission, it was half full of brown nasty water. Every time I had to go into to office/ little store there was a guy sitting by the door smoking and you had to walk through his smoke to get to the reservations desk. Didn't even look in the gift shop because I didn't want to bring something home that smells like smoke!

Miller's landing was the last stop on our 10 day backpacking/camping adventure. On our way back from Denali we decided to change our plans from camping in Homer to Seward. Upon a recommendation from a camping book, we stumbled upon Miller's landing. The environment is rustic, perfect for campers! We were part of a fishing charter that was entertaining and successful, catching more fish than the three of us will be able to eat in the next few months. The crew members were hospitable and knowledgeable and made our experience wonderful going above and over the call of duty!. The next day we kayaked to Bridal Vail Falls. It was a gorgeous kayaking trip and the guides were amazing! I would recommend Miller's to anyone who is looking for a camping site with much more to do!

What is shown on the website and highlighted as amenities are very different than what is actually available. We rented the Admiral's Cottage- no screens so we couldn't open the windows, no blankets, very musty, limited kitchen items, front porch rotted, and 1 set of towels per person for a week. There was a RV parked at our kitchen door and tent city 10 feet behind our cottage. The only highlight of this location was the turkey and rooster across the road!

We chose to stay here since we had a groupon. Was very hard to find good service, both in person and on the phone. We were stuck in a site that was 100% shaded, with biting black flies so thick that made it impossible to go outside in the afternoon. Our veiw was the dusty gravel road on the way in that people fly down and a broken down outbuilding. Right near our picnic table was an old outhouse with the door stapled shut. It looked like they had just niled 4 different site numbers on the trees and did not plan out how people would really fit a camper in there. At 5 am the roosters chose to wake us up, when they stopped, the sound of rocks flying on the dusty road as tons of people came to fish made it impossible to sleep. When you are told full hook up, you expect water, electric, and dump. Nope, for 36 a night it is just a plug in. Was not about to use the showers, they were nasty! We were so glad when we moved to a private, ocean front spot in the city campground for $15 a night, that is what saved the trip for us.

Old and a dingy but very close to the Bay and inexpensive for Alaska in the summer. Some extra effort in cleaning, and replacing broken utensils and ripped blankets would make this a better value. We also rented a skiff for a half-day to take advantage of the waterfront location.

Went out on the 7th of July, noon to four pm...Capt Bill was friendly and treated the two boys from the other party and my GF with great care and attention...we didn't limit out on Silvers, but we did put a serious dent in the school, which was right where he said they'd be...everyone caught several good fish and never went without attention or pointers from the Capt. Other than a very cramped office/customer area, I have no complaints and would recommend it to all, from novice or young to seasoned fishermen. I was also impressed that during the fish cleaning portion, that several other employees stepped up (due to all the fish we had stacked there) and volunteered to help Capt. Bill fillet them and entertained the two boys with scraps to throw to the seagulls.....I've read some negative posts about how some things were handled on the phone and confusion...but I've guided fly fishing trips and I've guided jeep tours and atv tours at Denali and I know there's lots of things going on over the phone that are abuses by clients....pay attention to what the clients say once they're out on the water...many businesses up here in the AK use temp summer help, some are J-11's/folks from overseas.....many are HS or college kids....owners will traditionally bend over backwards to ensure clients are happy and get their monies worth.....but I've had clients who came on my jeep tours and then wanted money back because they didn't see a bear or the weather was bad....talk to God....if we hadn't caught a fish I'd still be pleased with the trip because I know how hard guides take it when we can't give you the trip of a lifetime...thanks Miller's and Capt. Bill!!
