“Def worth the price”

We paid $80 per night. It was good. No complaints. Clean and comfortable. Location is great. Right next to very good breakfast joint - Smoke Shack and downtown. We enjoyed our stay in Seward. The lady at the check in counter was very helpful. She gave us information about everything that we can do in Seward.

Stayed for 2 nights, didn't seem too bad at first, as we were getting ready to leave was checking under the beds to make sure that we had not left anything behind and found that there was a lot of stuff under the beds that did not belong to us; a pair of sandals, a shampoo bottle, water bottle as well as general small trash. Made me question how well the remainder of the motel was being cleaned. Motel is convenient to Seward and staff was friendly, price was good for the area but was pretty concerned about how it is being cleaned.

We stayed two nights at the Marina, a mom and pop style single floor motel. The older facility was clean, up to date, and the beds were good. Seward gets a bit pricey in the summer tourist season, and we wanted to be thrifty due to the cost of fishing charters. We agreed that we would go back in a heart beat -- the cost for two nights is approximately what one night costs in the fancier hotels such as Holiday Inn Express. The staff were helpful and friendly.

We stayed here 1 night on 7/30/13. Simply - a very clean 1950s style motel that is across the highway from the Alaska Railroad station and a 5 minute walk from the catamaran fjords tour, as well as the free shuttle that goes around downtown (this is a small town, not very far at all, likely a 20-30 minute walk from motel). From the moment we walked in, the front desk woman (who it turned out was the owner's daughter) made us feel welcome, and allowed us to leave our suitcases while we went to lunch. She then let us check in early. I am used to staying in 4 star places when I travel for pleasure or work, so I was a but hesitant to stay at a 2 star, but uppn entering the room, I really was impressed. Carpet was not stained, no funny smells anywhere, beds comfortable, bathroom super clean, though soap and shampoos were not the luxurious brands you would get at a more expensive place. Hot water came on fast, and despite a full house, we heard no noise from the hallway or adjoining rooms. I did not come to Alaska to stay in the rooms much, and think this place is perfect for a family or couple. Free strong wi fo too!

Later, front desk had the owner, who gave us some taxi numbers and just seemed to care that we had a good time in town. I booked this stay after reading the reviews here and liking the price, and the Tripadvisor reviews really helped! HIGHLY recommend for a visit to this great city. I also highly recommend the Salmon Bake restaurant, a short taxi ride away. Will do a review for them now.

Room Tip: Not sure, perhaps a room not facing the highway, though this is Alaska, not a ton of traffic or nois...

We enjoyed this place immensely and will say that it exceeded our expectations. The Marina Motel reminded us of a quaint hotel in Cooktown, Queensland Australia called the Sea View Motel where you can kick back, get your fresh catch at the dock, get fresh fish and chips as a take away and suck up the view. The magnificent view from our room was so incredible, best views in Seward. Do not let the internet pictures fool you.

NOTE: All people that travel to Alaska in the summer season need to bring eye shades (like on the airplane), as many of the hotels do not have sun blocking curtains on all of their windows. The beds were comfortable and the linens and pillows particularly nice.

Workable coffee pot in room, which we used to make/drink coffee before departing at 7 am for the Kenai Boat Tours which happened to have shuttle buses to and from to the parking lot behind the Marina Motel. The Marina Motel owners were more than helpful and super friendly.

We kept our car parked at the motel and walked to our restaurants and the Kenai National Park Visitors Center which was fun.

Room Tip: Get view of the Seward Small Boat Harbor/Waterfront.

It's not the Westin, but the super nice staff and clean rooms delivered a better than expected experience. Great location!!! Only negative: the tiny "bathroom" window was frosted without a curtain. Easy fix: stuff extra pillows around the window to keep out the night time sun.

We stayed three nights here on our trip to Alaska. The room was clean and comfortable. We really like staying in local establishments and were glad we chose to stay here. It was close to several restaurants, so we could take a nice walk in the evening.
