What can I say?

5.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 25 Sept 2016
Booked a wheelchair accessible room for a two night stay. Room was at the back of the hotel with a view on two sides over the car park (not a problem) and onwards to the surrounding vineyards. Room was easily accessible by lift, well laid out, clean, bright comfortable etc It was also absolutely massive. Access to breakfast room was fine with a small lift available, breakfast buffet was OK. Staff were friendly & helpful both on arrival and prior to that when I made booking by email.
First time we have stayed & certainly we would have no reservations about staying again
Date of stay: August 2016
Room Tip: Easily accessible by wheel chair - massive 1st floor room

This is a large chateau that has been renovated into a hotel and conference center. The facility sites on a small hill overlooking a small, sleepy Alsace town providing nice views and plenty of quiet. Rooms are massive with high ceilings an big windows. If you need or like space, this is a wonderful place to stay.
Town has a few quaint restaurants that are within a 10 minute walk.

Very pleased indeed and really hope to go again soon.

All in all very good!

Val-Vignes is s proper, fine and correct hotel, no doubt. A stunning view from an elevated position in the village of st Hippolyte. Large rooms, most functions you may need. Nice immediate access to pedistrian paths wine yards.

On the negative side no air-conditioning, at least not in our room. Most days of the year this will not be problematic if you manage the shuttters.

My private view is that the Val-Vignes has been renovated to a level where personality and charm has been lost.

But for a business conference I would definitely consider the hotel.

The location of Val-Vignes is amazing. It is on the top of the small village of Saint-Hyppolite and behind it has one of the best landscapes I have seen in Alsace. From here It's very easy to visit the castle of Haut-Koenigsbourg (10 min. by car) and to reach other destinations like Colmar or Riquewir, or to go for a walk through the vineyards. The room was really spacious, clean, comfortable, with a huge window viewing the church and the village. The bar is close to the reception and it's very cosy. If you like, you can also sit outside to take your drink. If, after a walk or a dinner around the village, you don't feel to go to sleep, you can still play kicker or pool in the 'caveau' open all the night long or to have a sauna/ hammam till 22h. We enjoyed a lot our stay at Val-vignes! :-)

We stayed here 1 night to make it an easier drive to Strasbourg to catch our train the next day. It was very convenient, close to the other Alsace towns on the Alsace wine road, the Haut-Koenigsbourg castle that we could see from our room and was worth the visit. The location of the hotel somewhat overlooks the town and was very easy to get too. Our room was very large and appeared clean and had a large bathroom. The bed was comfortable and it was very quiet in the evening. We also enjoyed a little relaxation on their patio with drink that you can get from the bar which was situated in the lobby. The staff were friendly and had no problems with checking in or out. We didn't see much of the town but as we drove through there were several wineries and places to eat. We enjoyed our stay.

Room tip: room facing the castle and vineyards
