This is a resto you go to because you're hungry and you want a good-sized tasty meal without the gastro protocol dance. It does that perfectly, at the price you expect. Recommended.

Saturday lunch time (7th Dec 2013) we stumbled on this restaurant. Unpretentious, good food in a simple, relaxed atmosphere at very competetive prices. Friendly reception by a smiling waitress. Fairly limited choice but if you want fresh food in a small place this is inevitable. Food was excellent and great value, notably the queenies (= small scallops) in cream, cider and lardon sauce (pétoncles à la bretonne): fresh ingredients, tasty and a generous portion. Mussels were also very good. As a starter the assiette gourmande was also generous and their charcuterie can be recommended. House wine was very reasonably priced and surprisingly pleasant to drink. The bill was as expected from the menu (no sneaky extras) and at about €22 per person for a very good three course meal with wine we had no complaints. We were happy to leave a decent tip: it was well deserved by a cheerful, friendly and efficient waitress.

Next time I am in Morlaix I'll go back and probably choose the same meal again.

Le menu was good value and tasty, decent wine and attentive service, no problems.
Local scallors were excellent as was my fish and tarte tatin. Pretty much what i expect in Brittany. Worth a visit.

Having read the other reviews of La marmite we were expecting good rustic homely cooking, how wrong we were! We stayed in Morlaix 6 nights & eat in a different place every night.
We both had the fish dish, tasteless & full of bones served in an insipid orange coloured sauce
accompanied by a brown/grey couscous ,tasteless.
The service was slow but only 1 waitress in a full restaurant , I suspect they had all read the reviews on trip advisor!!
Our advice would be to avoid at all costs, there are far better places to eat in Morlaix ,starvation would be a better option.

simply say "awesome" .A small and quiet place, a few minutes from the square, La Marmite responds to everyone's expectation of a retaurant should be. We orded the
mussel marriniere, the fish dish (forgive me I don't remember the name and the salade
chevre chaud. The answer is " Awesome". The" patate frite", well.. we don't Fried Potatoes, but nothing was left in our plates. The quality and the price, again " Awesome".
