We just did the Dolly's wildlife tour in Skagway. We had the best time, learning about the wildlife, the stories and the singing. Dolly thank you for an incredible day, we look forward to doing this again. This is a fantastic tour for families.

Thank Debra R

We highly recommend Dawson Dolly’s Wildlife Adventure Tour in Skagway, Alaska. If you’re interested in the history of gold mining, wildlife and the lifestyle in Skagway presented in a humorous and lively atmosphere, Dawson Dolly’s Tours are for you. The tour is lighthearted, full of zingers and never has a dull moment. When the tour ends and you have time to look back on your day, you’ll be amazed at how many facts and ‘nuggets’ of information you absorbed. It was a very enjoyable experience and we know you’ll enjoy it. Ken M

I just got back from a seven day Alaskan Cruise on the Carnival miracle. We booked the Super tour with Discover Skagway Tours. Booking was easy via the internet. I liked that they do not charge your card until you get there and make a final decision on your tour. Their representative was at the appointed place and time as their e-mail said they would. I also have to give them kudos for being up front with us. Our package included the "old trail of 98" play, garden tour and the White Pass Tour. The representative that picked us up told us that the Garden Tour would not have flowers due to long winter but like dummies we chose to go and she was right, it was not a good time to go. If you have to trim anything from a package or if you are looking to choose between tours I recommend you skip the garden tour. Our tour guide on the White Pass portion of the tour was "Candy" she is a Texan whose son owns the local Thai restaurant in Skagway and she works up in Alaska during the tourist high season. She was very informative and gave us a tour of Skagway, a small mining town that gives you the Tombstone feeling. The white pass in a van is way better than the train because you can stop and take pictures and get much better views. But if you love trains then you should take the train ride which is more expensive than doing it by van. No Wildlife was seen during the tour--do not know if see it in the summer but in late May there was no wildlife to be seen. The White Pass tour takes you into Canada for about 10 minutes and then does a U Turn and comes back to the states and the Van goes through a Customs and Border Protection checkpoint. Candy then took us to the town cemetary and we saw the graves of past residents from the late 1800s and also a small waterfall. From there it was time to go see the play. The Trail of 1898 play was short and sweet. It is a small theater and the play lasts approximately an hour. They do pick audience members to participate so you do not want to sit front and center if you do not want to be picked. The play revolves around a duel of two town characters in the late 1800s. Skagway is a nice little mining town and we liked it best out of all the ports we stopped in. Be aware that all these tour guides expect tips so have a couple of singles handy and budgeted for them if you take these tours and you feel they do a good job for you.

small business tour and not operated by the cruise ship! Very affordable and you get your moneys worth. Our tour guide was VERY informative and she did an excellent job answering all and any questions. I took the traditional tour and the view from the top of the mountain was indescribable and I enjoyed the graveyard.

All those tours youbook through the cruise are much more expensive as if you do it yourself.
We had abeautiful Alaskan Cruise with NCL.
But our on land tours we did alone- it has been so much to discover and to see.
There was a shuttle into town from the pier for 2 dollars, but we chose to walk into town .
We were lucky with the weather- sunshine and clear views to the mountains and the glaciers.
