We stayed at the Kimpton Monaco in downtown Seattle for two days prior to our Alaskan cruise and I must say that the hotel exceed my expections in so many ways. The rooms were luxurious (I am very finicky). The staff is warm and friendly and they went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Their local dining recommendations were on point. The hotel is within walking distance to Pike's Market, the Malls and if you up for adventure the stadiums. If we just stayed in Seattle and not gone on the cruise, it would have been an adventure all of its own. Make sure you join their points program when you book so that you can enjoy their amenities like free internet access. Triple AAA members save even more. I will seek out the Kimpton whenever I travel. It truly rivels staying at any other 5 star hotel.

I like the phrase, a jewel... as this mirrors what I feel about coming to work here everyday. After 20 years at different hotels, coming into the Seattle Monaco is a refreshing change from the many other 5 diamond or wacky resorts I have been employed with. There is a warm, friendly atmosphere and free wine every nights, which just makes it all better. Appreciate your comments.
Tom.

I loved this hotel! The room was beautiful, and the location was great (only a 10 minute walk to Pike Place Market). The evening wine hour was a nice touch, and it was lovely to sit in the lobby and chat with the other guests. Sean, the concierge, arranged a car service for us after the 4th of July fireworks which was super convenient (last year I had to wait over 4 hours for a cab)!

Room Tip: Our room was by the elevator, but if you don't mind a faint noise every now and then it was fine...

How great that you were here over the holiday, the city and hotel have a different atmosphere on weekends and holidays and your notes seem to capture the spirit. As a reclaimed office building, each floor has a collection of interesting rooms and layouts, yep some are close to the elevator but the noise factor is tiny and rarely connects with any guest. Thanks again!

Recently stayed 4 night at the Hotel Moaco, first time to Seattle. We arrived a little early but our rooms were reaady which was nice.

Its worth it to sign up to be a Kimpton In Touch member, You get free Wi Fi and rooms on he higher floors. We were on the 9th floor. Room was spacious and clean. Bathroom had a Keurig coffee maker and Tully's coffee.

We also receive a voucher towards $10 of mini bar items.

The front desk help was helpful with restaurant recommendations plus they have bulletin board to the side of the front desk where guests can right comments and post them. There were quite a few recommendations and tips from other guest about sights to see, places to eat, etc.

Bedding was nice but mattress was really firm, too firm for me, pillows also just okay.

Lobby nice. There is a cocktail hour, which we came in one night at the tail end and they said we could go to the bar and tell the barender that we just missed it and he/she would give us a free drink. That was nice.

You can use the computers in the business center to print your boarding passes, no charge for the first 15 min.

I would stay there again. Location very good, We walked everywhere from there. To the waterfront, to Seattle Center, to Belltown, to PIke's Place Market, to catch the ferry to Bainbridge. Lots of restaurants within walking distance.

Room Tip: rooms on floors 9, 10 and 11 have an express elevator.

Yes! always sign up as a Kimpton In Touch member, you get the free wifi as well as great info on specials in our hotels and restaurants. Not some of the crazy offensive non stop emails which department stores and airlines are famous for, but actual information which could save you money, provide you with information on the hotels and always have something cool to look at!

We stayed at the Hotel Monaco the day/night before our Alaskan cruise. The location was great and we were able to walk everywhere (sites, shopping, restaurants). The staff was exceptionally pleasant and helpful at every turn. Room service was fantastic. The room was clean, well appointed (they thought of everything I could possibly need), beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. The hotel lobby was interesting and inviting, with its art work, comfortable seating, fireplace, complimentary coffee in the morning, and lemonade in the afternoon. On the morning of our departure, we had a delicious breakfast in the hotel's Sazerac restaurant after which the hotel staff got us a cab and we were off to the seaport. Compared to other hotels in the area, I think we received good value for our dollar. I will definitely consider staying at Kimpton Hotels in the future.

I recently stayed in ths hotel during a business trip. The look and location of this hotel impressed me. I have stayed in other Kimpton hotels and believe this is in line with their high standard of customer care and attention to detail. The fact that this hotel was only blocks away from great eateries and attractons was a huge plus. I would look this hotel up on a return trip to Seattle.

Fantastic rooms. Great location. Walking distance to EVERYTHING.

Highly recommend walking down to the ferry building and ride over to Bainbridge Island. It's a short trip - but well worth the visit!

Pleasant hotel in a great location with the attentive service and the signature Kimpton amenities. The front desk staff (especially Shanie and Alec) are very professional and informative about hotel services. A minor problem in our room was quickly remedied (Shanie went above and beyond!!) Easy walking distance to the public market, restaurants (think Purple Cafe & Wine Bar), shopping and one block from the airport train link. Look forward to staying here again on our next trip to Seattle.

Room Tip: Join the Kimpton hotel rewards program and enjoy the perks.

Shanie is a star! thanks so much for noting her in your comments. We really try here to keep the Kimpton spirit alive. Our founder Bill Kimpton noted about 20 years ago that travel was becoming fairly 'beige' and wanted to build hotels with attitude, style and unpretenious service, if you noticed this or if you didn't then we succeed in both accounts!
