“WOW!!”
Reviewed 2 November 2011

This was our first trip to Seattle and this location was directly selected based upon tripadvisor reviews and the willingness of manager David Watkins to respond to comments. We knew that the hotel stay for us, was going to be at least 60/70 percent of our overall experience to Seattle. So, we wanted location, location and an ability to just hang out and enjoy the views. Turned out, the weather was great and the location only enhanced our walking experience to everything "downtown".

Not sure if I can mention room #'s or not but there are 2 rooms that have very private access to an incredible balcony. The "common area" hotel balcony on the 5th floor is amazing enough but if you want an extra special touch, spend the extra $$ and get 1 of the 2 rooms on the 7th floor that have private access to a huuggee balcony that is only accessible to said 2 rooms.

Overall, this was a lot of money for us on a room but in retrospect, it was worth every single nickel and I kinda feel like I should send them a few more $$.

Highlights for us on the staff were, Landon, Paulie and Katie. Staff even confirmed and verified (hi Katie) a craigslist ticket purchase that I made to a Seahawks game.

Stay here now if you want the ultimate Seattle experience (rain or shine)!

One very small complaint worth mentioning is that "Post Alley" can get a little rowdy on the weekends so light sleepers could have an issue with some late night/early morning noise if your visit is close to the weekend.

Dear Guest:

It is feedback shared from guests like yourself that help make our hotel more comfortable. I really enjoy reading our comment cards and the postings on Tripadvisor, it is important to me that I know how we are all doing. Thank for you for your reconigition of members of our team, we are going to be celebrating our employee of the quarter Monday and Landon is one of the nominees. Thank you for staying with us and we look forward to having you return in the near future.

Hotel per se is clean, spacious and in a great location. Will stay there again without hesitation.
However, I would recommend that you get a room that is not located right over the street as the noise from the street penetrates though the single pane windows. Either higher up or toward the coast view.

Dear Guest:
Thank you for continuing to make the Inn at The Market your hotel of choice when visiting Seattle. With our location being right in Pike Place Market there is going to be the feeling of an urban enviroment. The next time you plan on visiting if you do decide to book a city view room request one of our courtyard facing rooms( we only have a few) or as you have said reserve one of our water view rooms overlooking Puget Sound. Please feel free to contact me at dwatkins@innatthemarket.com and I will be happy to assist with reservations or any special requests.

A great location, very comfortable and good service but .... avoid the rooms fronting 1st Avenue - these can be noisy!

After 10 days in Alaska we ended our trip in Seattle before flying home. We decided to spring for a water view room and boy were we glad we did. The Pike Street Market sign and Puget Sound were beautiful from our window. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Our room was very nice, well appointed and surprisingly quiet considering the location. We loved watching the sunset from the roof terrace. We had breakfast in the cafe and it was delicious. Maybe the best quiche I have ever had anywhere, including home. The room rate is a little steep, but it's worth every penny. You are definitely paying for location and service.
We loved the Steelhead Diner right across the street from the hotel. We sat at the bar which was a great place to people watch. The food was great and the atmosphere very pleasant. There are lots of places to shop and eat, but it's a pretty good walk to the water's edge, and once you get there you won't find too much to do - a couple of restaurants and great views. We can't imagine staying anyplace else if we ever go back. The hotel and surrounds were exceptional.

Room Tip: Floor 7 or higher overlooking Puget Sound.

This is THE place to stay if you want to be in the middle of the market scene in Seattle. It's delightful to wake up early and walk among the market stalls while the vendors are just setting up. We were fortunate to have gorgeous fall weather when we stayed here in mid-October. We did have a little trouble getting in. The room was not ready at 4 p.m., the normal check-in time, but we couldn't really complain because when we came back at 4:30 the room was ready and we had been upgraded to a suite with a perfect view of the iconic market sign, Elliott Bay and the Olympic Mountains beyond. This was a suite on two floors, with a large living room and kitchen downstairs and a spacious master bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Bed was very comfortable with great reading lights.
We caught the beautiful sunset from the hotel's rooftop deck, where a lot of folks were sharing glasses of wine and snapping photos of the view.
This is a great base for exploring Seattle. We walked down First Avenue to the Seattle Art Museum's sculpture park near Belltown and then walked back on the waterfront. Had breakfast at Seatown, one of Tom Douglas's newer restaurants, with an emphasis on smoked fish. Also walked the other direction, toward Pioneer Square, and of course checked out the fish, produce and craft stalls in the market itself.
My only small caution would be that if you are looking for peace and quiet, this is probably not the place you want to be. The traffic noise from the viaduct below was quite loud all night even though I had my earplugs in. And the market action starts early so if you are a light sleeper you may have trouble sleeping in.

Room Tip: Don't miss the hotel's rooftop deck if you are here on a nice day.

I have stayed in several hotels in Seattle but have walked by the Inn At the Market and always wanted to give it a try. The Courtyard is beautiful and the hotel did not disappoint. The valet parking and bellhop services were quick and efficient. The check-in was friendly and took no time at all. I was given a room on the 5th floor which was right across the courtyard from the observation deck with a view of the ocean. Amazing view and it was convenient to be on the same floor as the deck where you could watch the sunset and the action at the Market. I purchased a package and my room had fresh fall flowers and valet parking was included. The bed and linens were luxurious and very comfortable. The bathroom was large and had great lighting and a makeup mirror. I appreciated the in-room fridge and complementary coffee in the mornings in the lobby. I ordered room service once and my food came quickly and hot.

You could not ask for a more central location in downtown Seattle. It was a short walk to everything I wanted to do while downtown. The hotel was a beautiful oasis in the bustling Pike Market area.I think it is the perfect location to experience Seattle.

Room Tip: The 5th floor is great because the observation deck is on this floor. The ocean view was worth the s...

Dear Guest:
Thank you for visiting Seattle and staying at The Inn at The Market. Your reveiw is a great summary of what we have to offer, we do have some unique and fun packages. One of my favorite is the Pike Place Fish Experience where one gets to go "catch" a flying fish at the world famous Pike Place Fish Market. We do hope to see you again in the near future.

My wife and I FINALLY had a chance to stay at the Inn at the Market. We have stayed at several hotels in Seattle over the past 9 years and the Inn, by far, is the best. Best location, best service (and this is quite an achievement considering all the fine smaller hotels in Seattle), friendliest staff, beautiful, and quiet rooms, and dining that is superb. We booked a water view room and were upgraded to a deluxe water view room. It was fantastic.

We dined at Cafe Campagne and it reminded us of many small, but excellent, restarurants that we have enjoyed in Paris. The food was excellent and our server, Courtney, was a gem.

We will definitely return.

Room Tip: Get a water view room. The view is one reason why Seattle is such a great city.

Dear Guest:
Thank you for your high ranking of our hotel, I am pleased to read you had a pleasant visit. Cafe Campagne is fabulous, they are featuring Cassoulet this fall, it is great for one of those cold wintery nights. Please let me know when you plan on returing and i will be happy to assist in making your return arrangments here in Seattle.
