“Excellent Stay in Downtown Seattle”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 August 2013

The location of this hotel is outstanding and the main reason we chose to stay here. Our room had a great view of 1st Avenue, right accross the street from Pike's Market. From here, it is an easy and enjoyable walk to Pioneer Square via 1st Avenue or Alaska Way along the waterfront. Also, the monorail to Seattle Center is about three blocks away.

The hotel lobby is tucked away off a courtyard where several small restaurants are located. Our room was extremely comfortable and surprisingly quiet. It had a window seat that overlooked the corner of 1st Avenue and Pine Street.

The staff here were great. They were friendly, helpful and efficient. I would definately recommend this hotel for anyone looking for a downtown hotel.

My son and I had a 24 hour stopover in Seattle on the way to a family funeral. We knew the next week was going to be tough, so we wanted to be at our most relaxed to start out. He was coming from D.C. and I was arriving out of Anchorage. Knowing all this, I wanted a quiet spot but the Inn was booked up. Reservations suggested that the room reserved for the disabled was available, would I be interested. I had visions of hand railings etc...maybe not the mood I was looking for. Bus as we talked I learned that it had a great view of the Market, a window seat, an extra large bathroom and I decided to try it.

Our room was huge, lovely and no hint of catering to a special need. In fact, this is the place to stay if you do require assistance. The room was comfortable in the extreme, and I especially enjoyed having my morning coffee propped up against a pillow in the windowseat watching the early morning goings and coming at the Market below. The night before we enjoyed a glass of wine on the roof top terrace gazing at the bay and the lights while we planned our next longer stay at the Inn.

Inn at the Market is in the best location and provides great views of Elliott Bay. You are 1 block from the Pike Market and about 4 blocks from the Monorail Entrance in the Westlake Center.
The hotel staff is excellent --they gave good suggestions for dining and had tickets for sale
to the Chihully Glass Exhibit and for the Monorail..
Ask for a water view king bedded room on a high floor

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room --high floor --with a water view

Favorable reviews of this "find" are absolutely correct! We stayed here 2 nights and did not want to leave! In fact, our room was so amazing and the eateries and courtyard ambience so wonderful, that we cancelled a ferry excursion we had planned for day 2. Service is outstanding, and there was no request ignored. We splurged and got room 710: a massive water view room with doors that lead out to an 800 square foot deck with perhaps the best view in all of Seattle! The deck is shared with one other room, but we always had the area to ourselves. Sunsets were amazing and we ate breakfasts out there and enjoyed our own private happy hour too. Even if not in this great room, the 5th floor rooftop deck accessible to all hotel patrons is equally spectacular. We had a great light dinner at Marche in the Courtyard, and a wonderful breakfast at Bacco's. The hotel has a courtesy car, and it was available to take us to Jazz Alley one night. Great service. The do not have a gym, but offer a $15/day pass at Seattle Athletic Club 2 blocks away (older club, but good equipment and not crowded at all). Coffee and water in the very comfy lobby and all newspapers there for guests. We needed to get a car to the airport at 3:30am, and with one call the night before, we had a town car literally waiting for us at curbside the minute we came to the lobby. The desk employee knew our names, told us the car was waiting whenever we were ready, and thanked us for the stay. Wonderful!

This hotel is in a great downtown location, walking distance from many of Seattle's sites and shops, and good bars and restaurants within strolling distance.

The hotel is comparatively expensive, but you're really paying for a really nice room in a great location. Bathroom was generously sized, as was the bedroom. Despite the downtown location it wasn't noisy. The deck had amazing views out over the water.

I'd definitely stay here again if visiting Seattle.

Dear Guest:
Thank you for highlighting our location here in Pike Place Market, we are in the middle of it all. When staying with us, be certain to ask our team members their "secrets of Seattle" for things to do, see and taste. I highly recommend visiting the new MOHAI (Museum of History and Industry)located in South Lake Union.

The hotel is very elegant but expensive. If you are only in the city for a two or three days and want to see the sites in the area, it is worthwhile but I would not want to stay longer unless you have an unlimited budget. We paid for the water view( view of Ellison Bay) and my wife really enjoyed the view and if she was happy--that made me happy as well but the street side would have been acceptable to me--and about $125 less per night.

I arranged limo service from Sea-Tac to the hotel through the hotel and it was worth it.

There is a nice bar next door that has Korean fare and two French restarurants (bistro and upscale) across the courtyard (on split levels) that are nice if you don't want to venture out too far,
Plenty of restaurants in the area (less than 10 minutes walk). Within 75 yards is the Pink Door and I enjoyed it thoroughly. The staff recommended Etta's and it was decent and the Athenian Cafe in Pike Place Market but I went elsewhere for breakfast one morning and wish I had listened to the staff.

Our room was not too large but acceptable. Hardwood floors and nice amenities. It could use a spruce up in some respects--thought the furniture seemed a bit tired but the mattress was excellent. The staff was very helpful and could not do enough to make our stay enjoyable. We enjoyed drinking wine on the 5th floor terrace late in the evening.

I waited until the day before leaving to rent a car (for a trip to Canada) and was glad I did. Parking at the Inn is expensive and you don't need a car to see the sights that are nearby.

If you want to explore Pike Place Market, there is no better place I saw to use as a home base to relax and enjoy Seattle.

if visiting again for the sights in area, I would stay here again.
