You can walk just about anywhere from here. We upgraded to a two queen room for 20 bucks a day. The historic hotel has charm, as you will seen in elevators. Also our room had two bathrooms, which was more useful then i thought they'd be (his & hers). The staff is friendly, and the bartender does his job (too) well. Try a silver belle if you like not overly sweet refreshing lemon drinks. Our room was on the 9th floor, and had a decent view of surrounding buildings. The restaurant is ok, but i didn't try it for dinner. Out the door down the street to right you have quite a few excellent choices. Went to Lolas for greek breakfast, and ate outside at Assaggio's 3 times (love). I went shopping a little bit for the three days i was there, its outside your door to the left. We took a from the airport and back it was $40/45.

Room Tip: Higher the better, away from older elevators and away from ice machine if its hot

We wanted a central location for our 2 night, 4th July stay and this was perfect. It is a lovely old hotel and all the better for having a bit of class and substance to it. All the staff were professional and friendly - and the martini in Oliver's was amazing.
Yes the lift is cranky and a bit slow, but it's old and characterful and lovely for it.
It's an easy walk to Pike Place market and we also walked to the Space Needle - although the monorail is right behind the hotel too - it's a great location to see Central Seattle from.
The only "issue" is the price of parking, but it is city centre and all parking was pricey so 'whatever' - it was worth it. If we're in the city again, we will return.

From the time you walk into this hotel you realise that the staff are attentive but not overpowering. The location allows you to enjoy a short walk to the pike market, pioneer square and indulge in some shopping. Our evening in the hotel began at Oliver's watching 2 outstanding barmen, Patrick & Luke, not just displaying the art of mixology but if you sit at the bar, you realise in conversation, that their product knowledge is excellent. Olivers serve Absinthe, the French way. We decided to dine in Andaluca, a Mediterranean influenced restaurant in the hotel and Chris our server, has a superb knowledge of the wine list and helped us pick a delightful Washington white wine. The appetiser of baked beets and steamed clams and the entree of an authentic paella made the evening complete. Rarely can a hotel offer F&B of this quality. This is inn keeping at its best.

Room Tip: A/C can be a little noisy.

Stayed two nights here in spacious quiet corner room 915. We loved the location. You can walk to many attractions or in minutes be on the monorail. We took the light rail from the airport and it was just a five-minute walk from the final stop to the hotel. Yes, it's an old-fashioned hotel. Decor is not hip or modern, but the service is outstanding. We needed a fridge for medication. A quick call and it was in our room in five minutes, no charge. We left behind an iPad. Housekeeping found it and has posted it to our next location. Nothing was too much trouble.

Room Tip: Seek a room on a higher floor to avoid traffic noise.

The Mayflower has long been a favorite of those of us who escape to Seattle for a weekend getaway to shop, see a show, attend a sporting event, or celebrate a special occasion. It is a special place for those who appreciate the finer things and special touches found in an elegant boutique property with a long Seattle history. For those out of town visitors who are looking for a bargain stay with breakfast included, might I suggest someplace like a La Quinta, a Hampton Inn or one of those places? For those who are looking for a memorable, comfortable experience within close walkable distance to great shopping, restaurants and theatres, the Mayflower Park is perfect. Enjoying one of their amazing martinis in Oliver's at the end of a long day is a great way to meet up with friends...unless you prefer the atmosphere of a food court at a Mall.

We have been staying at the Mayflower for over 25 years. We have never been disappointed with the exceptional service, attention to detail, elegant décor, level of comfort, amenities, or food and drink in the restaurant and lounge. The staff are very attentive and obviously committed to a higher level of service.

Word to cruise travelers who come before and after their voyages - Seattle is an expensive city. Expect to pay $$ for overnight parking if you are choosing to stay in the city. If you want to avoid those fees, stay outside of the downtown area and take public transit for getting to the Market, shopping, museums, etc.

Hotel prices in Seattle are very high so we were pleased to get this hotel at a reasonable price through a bidding site. The location is excellent (a few blocks to the Pike Market) and the staff service was very good. The room was clean, but the "European charm" of the Mayflower meant a very small room and an even smaller bathroom. It was fine for a short stay, but not if we were going to be here for a longer period of time.

simonthecellar,

I'm happy to read that you appreciated our central location. We are extremely fortunate to be "smack dab" in the middle of downtown.

As well, thank you for the comments about our staff. At the Mayflower Park Hotel we are able to be ourselves - no scripts - sincere service is what we strive for!

In addition to the Classic Queen Room, we have 14 other room types ranging from Deluxe Rooms to Suites with the price difference often being very nominal. Should you return as out guest in the future, ask us about alternate options that might better suit your needs.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience.

Sincerely,
David B.

We went to the Mayflower Park for a Post Cruise One Night Stay. We previously requested two rooms together and for an early check in. Since I had seniors, I wanted the rooms together, Upon arrival we were told there was one room available, but the second room would not be adjacent to the first if we took the room that was offered. We decided to wait since we needed adjacent rooms. We went to mass, and upon return we were told one room would be available at 2:30pm. We took the one room. The second room was available at approximately 3:30pm. When I asked what was check out time, I was told 12:00pm, unless you request late check out. On our last day we were told we could only have late check out for one of the rooms. I would therefore not book the room it you expect to check in several hours early, or if you may want a later check out time since both options may not be available to you. With respect to the rooms the decor is dated. My mom and aunt who shared a room noted their mattresses were not comfortable and needed to be replaced. My dad and I had an adjacent room and had a very good mattress, but both rooms had old decor. The restaurant for dinner and breakfast is very pricey. 17 dollars for a basic breakfast not including tax and tip. The 17 dollar breakfast was for a couple of pancakes, 2 pieces of bacon, toast, and 1 glass of orange juice. We stopped at a local McDonalds for eggs, sausage, muffin, pancakes and coffee for 5 dollars a person and we were very satisfied. For dinner I would recommend go to the adjacent shopping mall that is connected and try the food court on the second level. At a food court there is also no need to tip. The location is good since it is near the monorail that brings you to the Seattle Sky Needle, and is near Pike Marketplace. However, any hotel in the area will also allow you to use the monorail and get you to Pike Marketplance. At 280 per night per room, the rooms are expensive for what type of room you receive. We were able to print out our boarding pass and luggage tags for no cost. The manager in front did allowed us to use a luggage scale. At 280 a room, I expected a higher quality room, and also a hotel that would try to be more accommodating with early check in and check out. When calling a cab for us, we were told to get a vehicle within 5-10 minutes we had to get an SUV for $65 not including tip. I was told a Yellow Taxi can be ordered, but there was no guarantee one would show up in 10 minutes. Outside I saw an Orange Taxi. I asked the driver if he can order us a taxi. He had a taxi arrive in 5 minutes. Cost to airport for 4 people was 45 dollars, we gave a 10 dollar tip. In any event , it pays to shop around.
