“Small Old Fashioned Downtown Hotel”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

I've stayed at the Mayflower Park Hotel a number of times over the past twenty years and have always had a great experience. This past stay was with our four year olds and our double room with two bathrooms met our needs. In the past, I have also been in a suite and have always had great rooms. This is an old fashioned, New York style hotel with great service, help at the curb and not a sky scraper feeling. The windows open, so you can get fresh air. The bar downstairs has a worldwide reputation for the best martini bartender in the city and one of the best in the US. If you want to get around downtown, this is a great location. You can easily walk to great restaurants. We walked with our boys to Lola's up on 4th, which they loved. There are a number of other, great Tom Douglas restaurants close by, also. The downtown shopping is a few blocks away. From there, you can also catch the monorail to the Pacific Center to go to the top of the Seattle Space Needle, or go to the various attractions at the Center. We visited Pike Place Market each morning for breakfast, which is always fun.

Room Tip: Rooms not on 4th may be quieter, but we didn't have any noise issues.

We decided to try Mayflower after seeing super high prices quoted at our *former* downtown favorite - Best Western. It was a great choice. This hotel has exactly what a comfort-seeking (read: not budget or student) traveler needs and expects: Super clean room, all the technical and modern conveniences you'd expect, like wifi, plus it includes wonderful style and charm from being a classic hotel. The location is superb, about 2 blocks from Pike's Market, and 1 block from the Link metro. Staff is super professional, courteous and helpful. This place is now our go-to when passing through Seattle. They also have a highly rated bar and restaurant - we ate some of the best French Toast we've ever had. Try their Mandarin Drop cocktail.... delish...

Stayed 10 nights June/July 2014.
Very comfortable Downtown hotel which gets away from the usual 'business clientele' style. As we were staying for longer than the usual guest, we were given a spacious room on the 9th floor which had its own 'living area' separated from the bedroom by sliding doors. We found the room to be quiet, clean and well maintained.
As stated in numerous other reviews, the best advantage of this hotel is the great central location. Seattle is not the largest American city we have visited and you can easily reach all the main tourist and entertainment attractions on foot (although I would be more wary at night). If walking or the weather is a problem, then public transport is very reliable and readily available close to the hotel. The transfer from the airport, using the public rail system, was the easiest we have encountered on any North American holiday (in relation to the cheap cost involved).
The staff were always friendly and helpful, although we did have a minor issue with a bathtub that could have been handled with better communication. Overall, an excellent hotel which we would happily recommend - a truer rating would be 4.5 out of 5.

Room Tip: We always email a hotel before shortly before we visit and request a quiet room on upper floors away...

We wanted a central location for our 3 night stay before our Alaskan cruise and the Mayflower Park was ideal. We walked everywhere; shopping, dining and sightseeing. The staff are very professional, cordial and attentive. The concierge was very helpful. The room had a Jacuzzi,
and a bar. The bed was amazingly comfortable. We booked sight unseen, got a great deal,
and was very satisfied.
PS: Saved a fortune by using East-Side & Flat Rate For Hire Co. to and from the airport and port.

Loved mayflower Park Hotel. Perfect location! Able to walk everywhere! Great staff! Comfortable beds! Small bathroom, but who really cares?! Queen Suite is perfect for family of 4....2 doubles and roll away in 2nd room, no cost. 2 bathrooms; Able to park right next door overnight for $28 (vs $42); Yummy breakfast, although a bit pricy. Would most definitely stay here again. Took $15 cab from hotel to pier to catch ship. Thanks Mayflower Park!

Room Tip: Try to get room on higher floor. A little street noise, but really not bad at all.

Very close to Pikes Market and shopping. Also many great restaurants nearby. They also own a bar about a block away where the staff was really attentive, friendly and knowledgable about area attractions and eateries. Hotel rooms were really nice, clean and comfortable. A bit pricey, but being so close to everything made it worth the price.

Room Tip: Just ask. They provided us with a room on a high floor as requested.

We stayed here before and after our cruise. the hotel is right in the middle of downtown and an awesome location. The train from SeaTac is the end of the line and puts you across the street from the hotel. The staff is outstanding and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The restaurant on premises is a little on the expensive side but the food and service is outstanding, their breakfast is something else, you have to get the pancakes if you eat there. If you are taking a cruise they can arrange for a shuttle to take and pick you up. One thing that impressed me was that our room was ready when we returned on a Friday morning from our cruise. We got to the hotel around 10 am expecting to wait for our room, but it was ready and we were able to dump our luggage and head out on the town. We had the basic room, but it suited us just fine as we were out on the town most of the day and night. Pike's Market is a 10 min walk, the Space needle about 20 min. One thing I found was there were ample electrical outlets along the wall. How many times have you been in a hotel room with only two sockets to charge all your stuff? The only draw back is that our second stay room was right next to the elevator, so if you get any rooms with 601, 701, etc, up or down, see if you can switch. Not a really big thing but can be a little noisy. I would stay there again.

Room Tip: The first night we had a great corner room on the 11th floor, corner. The return room was by the ele...
