Quality Inn & Suites Seattle
Ranked #82 of 103 Hotels in Seattle
Reviewed 24 December 2013

The very good positives are in my review title.

Location:
We were there for a convention at WSCC but the evening events were at the Key Arena just a couple of blocks away. Even though WSCC is further out, Quality Inn provides a complimentary shuttle service we took advantage of everyday. Also next to the nearby Key Arena there's the Seattle Center where there's the Space Needle, nice food court in the Armory and the Chihuly Glass & Garden exhibit we enjoyed. Next to that is the monorail you can ride (for $2.25) to downtown as an alternative to the shuttle. There's a McDonald's just before the Space Needle and around the corner from hotel there's a Walgreens.

Great value:
Staying at Quality Inn it came with complimentary breakfast (eggs, sausage, waffles, danish, yogurt, fruits, coffee, juice, cereal, milk, etc ...), free wifi in room & lobby, computers & printer in lobby, shuttle service, gym and swimming pool (unfortunately we didn't have time to use). There's also free coffee, tea and water in the lobby.

Helpful friendly staff:
My friend made the reservation for us and another group and unfortunately there was some misunderstanding on the room arrangements that the front desk lady went to the extra effort to clarify at our 2am arrival that she didn't need to since it wasn't her fault for our problem. Her name I believe is Aliya and she was so helpful and courteous despite the trouble she was helping fix that really wasn't hers. On the following days of our stay anytime I had a question or concern the staff was so friendly to answer me. The shuttle drivers were also very friendly. One morning we headed to Top Spot Doughnuts and the shuttle driver even offered to wait for us. Because it was our first time at the historic doughnut store we opted to take our time and just walk back. On our last day we had about 3 hours in the afternoon before our return to the airport so they kindly held onto our luggage while we did some sightseeing.

The negatives:
We were actually torn on giving this a 3 or 4 star review but chose 4 because of the above. The beds were comfortable that for us it was easy to oversleep. The hotel and the rooms are not as fancy as the new big hotels more in downtown, but for our needs where we were out most of the time it was great. The furnishings and the 2 beds were just right for the 2 of us, the TV was nice but we didn't really have much time to watch. If there is one real negative I'd have to give is in the small bathroom where the water pressure was very weak. I had thought that maybe Seattle has some extreme water conservation going on despite the climate there, or our room #352 was at the end of the building where it got the last bit of the water distributed throughout the building. The water temperature was comfortable but showering would take twice as long as usual to feel rinsed off. I liken the amount of water pressure coming out of the faucet and shower to what I've experienced in third world countries. I actually told the front desk about it as we were on our way out for the day. We were asked permission if a room attendant could examine and work on it while were out and we said yes. That evening when we got back we noticed nothing with the water pressure had changed. Since we were more than half way through with our short stay we didn't bother anymore and simply put up with the inconvenience.

Last thing are 2 recommendations for other travelers. Make reservations with the complimentary shuttle service. Since the hotel does not provide free shuttle service to/from the airport (about 30 minutes away), we found using shuttleexpress.com to be very inexpensive and convenient since Quality Inn is one of their pickup/dropoff locations. If you have someone 17 & under they get to ride free with paid adult so for us it only cost $18 to/from airport.

Room Tip: maybe rooms not as far as the end have better water pressure?

Went to Seattle to visit some friends, and they recommended Quality Inn & Suities downtown. So happy they did! We saved money on parking, because we were able to walk to so many places being it's central location downtown. To top it off, we had a jacuzzi tub in our hotel room, which I thought, really how much use will this get?, but every night I found myself soaking my sore feet from walking all around this beautiful city. Will definitely stay there again for future visits!

Room Tip: No Room Service or Restaurant. No reason for room service, the food in Seattle in uh-mah-zing! Don...

This hotel is located within walking distance to the Space Needle and the skytrain terminal, which makes it a good option for visiting the city. The rooms are pretty small, but the one we had, located on the first floor, had access to a large balcony, were we spent our evenings. Not very friendly service.

Room Tip: Rooms on the first floor, facing the main street, have access to a very large terrace.

Its a Quality Inn hotel, not your Sheraton or Hyatt. You get what you pay for and I have to say I was satisfied with the hotel based on what I paid for it. Check - in time says 4pm but I landed in Seattle couple hours earlier. I called to ask if I could checkin and they said I could since my room was ready. Yea, the room was small but i was by myself so it was fine. If you travel with more people you probably need to book a bigger room... Or go to a more expensive hotel!
The breakfast options were huge. Eggs (scrambled andhard-boiled), sausage, biscuits, pastry, four types of cereal, toast, fruit, yogurt, and even a waffle machine! I think breakfast alone would have costed at least $10 if you ate this at a restaurant. I mean basically, it was a buffet!
There is a complimentary shuttle to downtown but it is clearly marked on the sign that reservations are needed 48 hours in advance. I tried to ask for a shuttle on the same day but it was boked- understandably so. However i was able to reserve a seat for downtown when i needed to catch the train to the airport with my luggage. For all my other trips to downtown, i just took the monorail or the bus. The location of the hotel was great- 5 mins to Seattle Center where the monorail was. The bus stop to downtown is about a 1-minute walk from the hotel. I think the complimentary shuttle to dwntown is a great service as not all hotels have this.
Wasnt able to use the pool but seriously, i dont go travel to swim in a pool since i could do that anywhere in the world!
Overall, the hotel exceeded my expectations for what I paid for it. People need to stop expecting a limousine when they ordered a 4-car sedan

Overall we were pleased with the friendly helpful staff, the breakfast was good. My only disappointment was I was told when we booked the Jr. suite that it came with a chair and ottoman or a small couch on the other side of a partition. Our room had neither. Just a table and two chairs. That made it inconvenient for us. The van driver was very helpful and courteous diving us several places.

The Quality Inn & Suites Seattle property is wonderful. The staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. They really know how to go above and beyond to make their guests happy. The rooms with the kitchenettes are terrific. The free shuttle service is awesome, especially because of the friendliness of the drivers. The staff does their very best to make it possible for you to get anywhere you want to go, as well as getting back to the hotel. I would highly recommend the Quality Inn & Suites to anyone.
