5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 December 2012 via mobile

Where to start with Hotel Andra, we booked online at the hotel site and I mentioned it was an early anniversary trip for me and my wife. We arrived a little early for check-in, but the extremely helpful staff still found us a great room on the top floor. The room was large, though it did have a smaller size bathroom. However, the separate make-up area definitely made up for the small bathroom.

After walking around Seattle for an hour or two, we came back to a surprise of a dozen roses and champagne in our room along with a card signed by the staff wishing us a happy anniversary. An incredibly nice touch that really put an immediate smile in my wife's face.

There is a nice bar in the lobby, part of Tom Douglas' Lola restaurant, that made for a nice place to catch up with some friends. Around the corner is an artisanal pizza joint - Serious Pizza - which does not disappoint. Directly across the street is Tom Douglas' Dhalia Lounge where we had an amazing dinner experience. We shared the seafood bar sampler (smoked black cod was amazing), the oxtail ravioli (recommended by our server and indescribably good), and a tasty 5-spice Peking duck.

The property is also in an excellent location in downtown Seattle. It is only a short walk to Pike's Place and the waterfront, shopping, and other Seattle attractions.

All in all, I can easily recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Seattle for business or pleasure and will definitely stay again.

A wonderful small and very personal hotel. Tasteful decor and a fabulous restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Location is superb as is the service from all staff. I've stayed there at least 8 times now and will continue to do so.

Room Tip: Corner suites are our favourite.

Over the years we have stayed in both regular rooms which are very nice and this trip we stayed in a suite over Xmas for 8 nights which was wonderful. The beds, showers, amenities, staff, etc are all great. The restaurant at Lola downstairs is very good and the bar is usually happening. We grew up in the Seattle area (we now live elsewhere) and this is, in our opinion, the best location to stay in the city. There are many great bars and restaurants within blocks as well as the Pike Place Market, SAM, Seattle Center, etc. Mariner and Seahawk stadiums are walking distance. Make sure to get out to the neighborhoods (Capital Hill, Fremont, Ballard, etc.) which are a short walk, bus or cab ride away.

We booked a room for three nights here, then upgraded to a suite so our 16 year old son could have his own private room.
Great location, friendly no-nonsense service and a wonderful location just minutes from everything made this a wonderful spot for our Seattle stay.

Thank you Hotel Andra for a wonderful one night stay close to Christmas! This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a heritage building located downtown, very close to great shopping (Macy's, Nordstrom's) and other attractions like PIke Place and Seattle Art Museum. Staff were all friendly, enthusiastic, and helpful. Bed was very comfortable and they had an excellent duvet which was very light but cosy warm. Enjoyed the toiletries (from Stockholm), room was very clean and suprisingly large! I ordered room service which is food from Lola resturant downstairs, the chicken kabob platter was astonishing (best chicken I have ever gotten in a hotel, let alone take out!!!), so flavourful and delicious, with really good yougart dip. Bread was amazing! Lola resturant seemed cosy and was very popular with locals. Highly recommend this place! I liked it better than the Hyatt.

We stayed in Suite 608 which was in front with a wonderful view of 4th Ave and the hotel is close to Pike Place the Seattle Centter and is in the Downtown Core. The Dahlia Lounge is directly across the road and is a Seattle Institution. The furniture, design and rooms are immaculate and Scandanavian in design and theme. This is smaller hotel with no pool, spa or such but prides itself on service and quality.

Room Tip: Go high in front.

I surprised my boyfriend with an overnight stay at Hotel Andra for a Christmas staycation. I ordered the "Romantik Package," which to me seemed like a great value. We had a one night stay, champagne upon arrival, free valet parking, a king-sized bed, and late check-out all for around $200. I was also contacted by Brooke Melampy of the hotel. She asked me when we were going to check in so that the champagne would be ready, in the room. That prompted me to ask her if I could drop off some presents the day before, along with a small Christmas tree, to have waiting in the room upon our arrival. She was extremely accommodating and helpful, and the whole stay went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend Hotel Andra for just about any occasion. If you have a special event in mind for a significant other, I would also recommend getting in contact with Brooke. She will help plan an unforgettable night. I can't wait to go back!

Room Tip: Ask for a high level, and ask to face 4th Avenue.
