“Hotel Andra is the place to stay downtown.”
Reviewed 11 November 2013

I have stayed at Hotel Andra many times now for work and highly recommend it. My typical stay is 2-3 nights and I do this a few times a year. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, the décor is attractive and inviting. What sets this hotel apart from the competition downtown is not just the great rooms and environs, but honestly the staff! They are always friendly and eager to assist. They greet you when you come in the door, respond to any requests on a timely basis and are in general just incredibly friendly. For a great meal, you also don't have to go far either... Lola is attached to the lobby with a fantastic greek / Mediterranean inspired menu and local beers on draught. The Hotel is convenient to shopping, other great restaurants (Dahlia Lounge across the street, Icon Grille around the corner), and a few short blocks from Link, the light rail system. I never rent a car as Seattle is a walkable city and Hotel Andra is right where it needs to be. The only thing it's missing is a full espresso / latte bar in the morning (in the lobby... idea??) but Lola has a slamming good breakfast and Starbucks is a short two blocks away.

Room Tip: Rooms facing 4th Avenue give a nice view of the city.

Great to hear from you JeepHudson! The team and I truly appreciate your kind words! Praise such as yours always lifts our spirts and is a pleasure to share with the team. I couldn't agree with you more! Our team goals include creating a warm, friendly, and inviting atmosphere for each of our guest! We take great pride in knowning that we have done so for you!

Thank you for continuing to be our guest and sharing your experience with our Trip Advisor audience!. In addtion to our great team service, I'm delighted to read that our close proximity and central location allows you to be "car-less" when visiting! It does make visiting Seattle a little easier when you can virtually walk everywhere you need to go or take a taxi / public transportation if your feet get tired!

It would be "grand" to have a coffee shop right off the lobby, but right now that's not an option. You can get a latte to go at Lola and luckily there are about 1/2 dozen other specialty coffee shops (including a Seattle's iconic STARBUCKS) all within a few blocks of our front door. There is no shortage of coffee here! Please know that we do take our guests comments into consideration when we are making changes, so perhaps someday we could have our own coffee store (I can guarantee our team members would be smiling at that)!

We look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

Regards,
Lars

We love this hotel. The location is near everything in downtown Seattle. Rooms are clean, beds are very comfortable and the staff is amazing. Hotel Andra is a stylish, boutique hotel. We had a king room that was quite spacious for a downtown hotel. In addition to the king bed in the main area, we had a nook for the mini bar area and a couch.

Since writing a negative review of Hotel Andra in 2011 (See "The Mattresses are Worse Than an Egyptian 3 Star Hotel"), my wife and I have stayed at this property a number of times. The staff are superb, the location excellent, and Lola restaurant next door has creative cuisine. It's our go-to hotel in Seattle (and the mattresses are outstanding!).

Room Tip: avoid rooms near the larger suites that are used for receptions. they tend to be noisy into the even...

It's always great to have you stay Fastasflight! We are delighted that you continue to make Hotel Andra your home! Although we would certainly love to only hear "praise" in the reviews (such as your kind words), the negative ones serve a purpose too! We think of negative reviews as "areas of opportunity" and value all guests comments!

I'm just so happy to know that although we may have fallen short 2 years ago with you, we currently continue to exceed your expectations with our friendly team service and dedication to hospitality! It doesn't hurt that we replaced all of our mattresses too!

Our first priority and goals are to make each visit relaxing and enjoyable! Thank you for being our guest and allowing us the opportunity to continue exceeding our goals with you. We hope to see you again soon.

Warmest Regards,
Lars

Hip, inviting decor but not pretentious, friendly attentive staff. Great room rates. Lovely king superior room, quiet, clean, all the amenities we needed. Lola restaurant and bar attached always lively and fun and tasty. Have stayed before will stay again!

This was my first stay at Hotel Andra on business. The entire hotel staff was courteous and knowledgeable about both the property and area. My room are very spacious with comfortable furniture, which included a walk-in closet space (major perk if a party of two or family) that was significant and appreciated. Another nice amenity was that they had personal mini ice cube bags measured ready for your in-room use in a sleek looking cooler (looks like a stylist part of the hotel furniture) on every floor right as you got off the elevator. No more loud ice machines and worrying about having only one ice bag in your room to use. Hotel Andra solved this long standing problem. I only ate breakfast at the hotel restaurant due to prior commitments and the food was delicious and the staff equally exceptional. Thanks for an enjoyable stay.

Dear JL, Thank you for being our guest and taking the time to post a Trip Advisor review. It was our pleasure to have you stay and look forward to making Hotel Andra your first choice when traveling on business or pleasure.

I'm happy to read that the room was spacious and that you liked the walk in closets! Many of our guest are surpised to see that special feature. I certainly agree that the ice chests with the pre-bagged ice virtually eliminates noise and makes retrieving ice effortless! Many of our guest seem to enjoy this added amenity and also appreciate the absence of a "clunky" and "noisy" machine in the halls!

It will be my pleasure to share your comments with our team, including our restaurant team at our partner LOLA! Breakfast is absolutely amazing and the dinner is sure not to be missed next time you stay! Thank you again for your kind words.

See you soon,
Lars

We live just across the Sound and often spend a night in Seattle. We've tried most of the smaller hotels and Andra has become our first choice for comfort, location and convenience. The rooms are large and comfortable, the bed is good, the lighting is imperfect but better than most of today's hotels (bathroom is marginal, bedside OK), room service from the Tom Douglas restaurant below is excellent, and the place has an active, lively vibe downstairs with its modern, smallish lobby and the spillover of sound and scent from the bar/restaurant adjoining. And the wifi is free -- which has become our barometer for what constitutes proper hotel management.

Our family of five stayed in this bustling and upmarket hotel. We had no complaints. The hotel is in an excellent location and staff were very efficient with any request we had. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Located very handy to a Raph's grocery store, the central shopping area (1 block to Macys) and the pier. Plenty of places to eat nearby. We were able to walk comfortably to everything including the Space Needle. Also close to the Light Rail Station, even though we did not use this. Only negative was no coin operated laundry in the hotel or within walking distance. Would definately stay here again if in Seattle.

Room Tip: If you require a view ask for a street view room but we had no view and this was no problem for us.
