We stayed earlier in the week at the Hampton Inn, which was nice, but further away from the central part of Seattle. This was located within a 3 block walk to the last light rail station - Westlake Station (that takes you to SeaTac for 2.75$ pp. It also is about a 3-4 block walk down to Pike Market & within 2 blocks of major retail shopping; plus you're surrounded by some excellent restaurants. Unfortunately, this was a quick one night stay from Victoria, BC & on our way back home. However, the service we received was outstanding & very accommodating. It's located in an older building - deceiving, because it's really "cool" inside (and we're baby boomers). The rooms despite being on a major street, were quiet (can't do anything about a siren), but otherwise a great experience. The bathroom was smaller than usual, but very efficient - so we didn't mind at all. They try to be responsible (green) and felt like they succeeded. I would certainly recommend this hotel! I liked that they didn't charge for wifi.

Room Tip: We were on the fourth floor facing 4th St. even close to the elevators & it wasn't loud.

Kewpie1, thank you for providing our TA Viewers insight to your recent stay! I'm delighted to read that central location provide you ease to the many fine restaurants and the light rail. All of Seattle's attractions are just steps away from our living room which makes it easy to shop, eat, site see, and then relax in our spacious guest rooms!

We hope to see you again soon!

Warmly,
Lars

Stayed for three nights....room was spacious and very clean, however the bathrooms are tiny...well done for such a small space, but overall tiny, though obviously newly done.,,,hard to find a bigger bath in a older, redone hotel.
Staff were extremely friendly and helpful....they offer cooking classes and one day of our visit there was a problem and it set off the smoke alarm....sending everyone out of the building and of course, freezing the elevators. For myself that was a problem as I have heart problems and had to hurry down the stairs....one of the valets said that this happens once a month....a quirk of redoing an older building....don't know if that was true, but it did put a dent in a nap before dinner and frightened me since our daughter almost died of smoke inhalation when a hotel she was at in Moscow caught fire. None of the staff seemed to panic and stayed in the hotel, so maybe it does happen frequently.

We enjoyed having you stay at Hotel Ändra Kathy L! I'm happy to read that our spacious room exceeded your expectations! I'm also delighted to read that you like our newly remodeled guest bathrooms! Although larger bathrooms are difficult to find in Seattle, our guest have found our new design, openness, custom built cabinetry and sink, along with our beautiful spa showers cover all the needs of our guests. We also have many rooms with the tubs for those guest traveling with families or prefer to take a nice soak after a busy day visiting Seattle's many attractions.

Please accept my sincere apology for any inconvenience or scare that the false fire-alarm caused you. It appears that our team member misspoke about the alarms as well. The newly opened Hot Stove Society Culinary School - featuring celebrity Chef Tom Douglas is a brand new addition, just opened in mid July. Indeed we are still working out some of hiccups with the alarm system, but I assure you it is not a common concern. From time to time (few and far between), we do have false alarms, but they have not been related to our new culinary school.

Our goal is to make each visit more relaxing and enjoyable than the previous! We look forward to future opportunities to have you as our guest! Perhaps you will have a chance to join us in one of the fun culinary classes! They are open to our guest as well as the public. Check out our new website and follow the link to classes and schedules!

Cheers!
Lars

We arrived at 11am and were able to check in right then. Desk staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. The location is great - just a few blocks to the Pike Place market, even closer to the Monorail station at the Westlake Center. Large, attractive, clean room. Great breakfasts at on-site restaurant, Lola's; nice bar and tapas there, too. The light rail link to the airport (fare is less than a dollar for seniors!) is also at the Westlake Center. We would definitely stay here again.

I stayed at this hotel for a business trip so I cannot speak on the cost as it was company paid, but I can say I had a great stay. Very clean and spacious rooms. There is a bar and restaurant downstairs so that is very convenient if you want to grab a drinks, food, or just mingle without venturing out too far. There are, of course, plenty of restaurants around as well. The hotel staff gave some great recommendations. An Italian restaurant Barolo (just a couple blocks away) has some great food and happy hour deals. Walking distance to the pier an Pike Place Market (which also has some great cafes and restaurants around).

Only drawback is parking as there isn't much around so be prepared to spend a hefty chunk of money on that, but that is pretty standard for any downtown in a major city.

We arrived early, before check-in, but we were able to drop our luggage off until later that afternoon. When our room was ready the very friendly bellmen went above and beyond to take our significant amount of luggage up to our room, so that it was waiting for us when we returned. The room (Superia) was clean and spacious with a long counter "bar" and desk area in addition to a king bed and sofa. The closet was huge. The bathroom was very clean and modern, but rather small. A minor drawback is that the bathroom shelves are small and not very deep, so dop kits couldn't really sit anywhere. All in all the room is well appointed with lovely modern decor and a very comfy bed. There was no noise from outside or in the hallway. All of the staff we encountered were warm and welcoming. Great location to see the sights or visit some local favorites! When I'm next in Seattle, I will absolutely return.

My family of 5 (2 adults and 3 children) stayed here for the last part of our trip. The location is wonderful and very central to most places of interest. The hotel itself is clean and very nicely presented, with the rooms being of a very good size (the room did not feel cramped at all).

We ate at Lola's twice, once for breakfast and once in the evening (booking recommended). Although the food and service were very good, it is quite expensive for the size of dishes. But still a nice experience.

I found the hotel to be a little expensive and coupled with no swimming pool, I have rated it a 4. I would stay here again and would recommend to others. Just look out for a good deal.

Your review is extremely valuable Asheeta C! We are absolutely delighted to read that your family of 5 enjoyed their visit and that our spacious Superia room type felt roomy! Our location does lend itself well to many of Seattle's great family attractions, not to mention a food establishment mecca! Although Hotel Ändra boast 3 restaurants inside, all with fabulous food and atmosphere, it is nice to get out and explore Seattle by foot!

Our newly launched website and blog has great promotions and packages, many including food packages or discounts on parking. If you haven't already done so, be sure to also like us on Facebook for real time news and special offers!

Thank you again for choosing Hotel Ändra! We look forward to making our home, your home away from home during your next visit to the STATES and the Pacific Northwest!

Sincerely Yours,
Lars

My wife and I have stayed at this property at least half a dozen times. Each time it has been an excellent stay, usually here for Seahawks games, or even the 2014 superbowl parade. Not an inexpensive stay, but worthwhile. There are definitely some great places to eat nearby, Icon Grill, Serious Pie to name a few. The breakfast at Lola is pretty decent too, but there are better options nearby.

Friendly staff, have always been helpful. Try and get a deal that includes a deal for parking, it's kind of steep, feels like paying for parking in Vancouver....

Room Tip: Avoid the room next to gym, it's really noisy. Sorry I don't recall which room # it is.
