“Excellent Location”

One night stay early June, 2014 prior to departing on an Alaska trip. Hotel was clean and the restaurant was excellent. On water views. Easy access to nearby cruise and ferry ships. Pier 91 terminal is about 3 miles away. Hotel is affiliated with a transport company that offers car or SUV service to/from airport and piers that was excellent in service and reasonable in price. Short stay at this location allowed hotel vehicle to drop us at Space Needle from which we visited glass museum, road the tramway to the farmer's market, then walked to the large Ferris Wheel ride before walking back to hotel. You are paying for the location. We think that if you are paying a high price for a hotel a bottle of water should be provided free in your room. Facility is looking a little dated, but again it was clean.

We stayed here for one night before our cruise and 2 nights after. The hotel is very pretty and looks the part. However, it is nowhere near the $500+ dollars we spend for a waterfront room. First, the room was very nice with a large balcony. However, the first night, the balcony overlooked a cruise ship terminal next door, not the water. All 3 nights, we were constantly awakened by the sound of trains across the street and gulls on or around our balcony. Then, we were awakened at daybreak by the sound of a door slamming near our room about 20 times. It was loud enough to shake the entire room. We finally looked out in the hallway and it appeared to be the housekeeping crews bringing their carts out.

We had constant trouble with the valet/bell crew. They could not guarantee a taxi would show up when called and once, no taxi did show. They have a complimentary shuttle that only leaves at the top of each hour and only fits abou 8-9 people. If they have more than that, you're out of luck. In addition, the van is run down, needs new shocks and springs and the driver was downright rude.

I complained about all of this calmly to the manager and was assured it would be addressed. However, the next night it was the same and when I received my bill, nothing had been done to "help out" a bit.

The restaurant was very good and efficient once you are seated. However, they appeared to be understaffed on our first morning and we waited for about 30 minutes, despite having multiple empty tables in the restaurant.

Perhaps some of this is a East Coast/West Coast thing becaue we ran into many other examples of what appeared to be a "I don't care" attitude while we were in Seattle. Nevertheless, for $500, we could have had a room at the Four Seasons and that is exactly where we will be next time.

This is a great hotel for exploring downtown Seattle and also being on the Puget Sound. The Edgewater has excellent staff, lobby, rooms and restaurant. It is next to the Victoria Clipper terminal for fast service to Victoria BC, as well as the Alaska Cruise Terminal a short walk away. The hotel gives you access to the water front, downtown and light rail system, all within walking distance.

Room Tip: There are rooms with both water and city views. The water view rooms are more expensive. Use your...

Our stay in Seattle was memorable because of the Edgewater Hotel - we just loved the décor and the whole feel of the hotel. It was welcoming and relaxed and the service was excellent. The rooms were clean and spacious - we were on the second floor overlooking the Olympic mountains. Loved the little touches like Edgewater Bear on your bed. The restaurant was wonderful - we couldn't fault the food at breakfast or dinner - the views over Elliot's Bay and the sunset over the mountains just made each evening.
Staff very helpful and the hotel shuttle bus was a bonus to get you to your starting point each day.
Well worth the money and would definitely recommend this hotel to any one going to Seattle for a few days. Great location and easy to get to all the attractions.

Stayed here on a pre-cruise stop-over. Enjoyed two nights in a water view room and, wait for it... one night in 'The Beatles Suite'! My husband and I loved the overall vibe/decor of this hotel. Our check-in was smooth, rooms clean, and service awesome. The bellmen and concierge were big helps, always ready to answer our questions as we popped in and out of the hotel. They have a shuttle to take you anywhere within about a 2 miles radius (Seattle Center/Market). We used it twice, but ended up walking to most attractions and dining (several excellent restaurants within a 5 minute walk, Starbucks/Market about a 15 minute walk along the waterfront, Seattle Center - 15 minutes up Broad St). Enjoyed happy hour and dinner at the hotel restaurant - delish! And the suite...well...it was worth every penny! We bought a bottle of wine from the Market, ordered room service, and enjoyed lounging in the space previously occupied by the Fab Four. We will definitely stay here again. Excellent location and service. Never had an issue with noise or cleanliness. As my husband put it, walking in to the Edgewater is like walking in to your own little oasis in the city.

Room Tip: There is a train that runs across the street from the hotel. We never heard it from the water view r...

Great people, great view, great food, great rooms and dog friendly! Just loved walking into the beautiful lobby, view of Puget Sound and people sitting with their dogs drinking coffee:). Don't miss Happy Hour in the lounge!

Room Tip: Try to get a room on the water side as the street side is very loud in the morning.

OK. If you've never been to Seattle AND want a really nice hotel AND want to spoil yourself AND want to be catered to at every moment THEN the Edgewater Hotel is PERFECT for you. The place is sweet. It's also on the water. And it's pricey. But the service is amazing and the views are unbelievable. So to recap,... if you're a tourist looking to treat yourself and you aren't going to sweat a few extra bucks this should be on your list.

If you're here for business there are many other places I would recommend before the Edgewater. It's not that close to downtown (just too far for a close walk for meetings and kind of a waste of a taxi ride). Also, there isn't a breakfast buffet, which slowed me down in the mornings. Save this stay for your next vacation.

Room Tip: If you're going to stay there get a waterfront room. Be sure to negotiate that as well. We upgra...
