“Neat location, loved the Wall of Fame, not the friendliest of staff”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 June 2014

I should start by saying I'm from the mid-west so maybe my friendly is not the same as Seattle friendly. The hotel was clean. Our TV did not work and the remote batteries were dead (two different issues) not a big deal but had to call repairman. The bathroom vent didn't work so the bathroom was hot and steamy. I found two staff members who were friendly and we ate in the restaurant there too. Overall it was a cool place to stay, great location and learning about The Beatles Suite was fun.

Very happy with all aspects of our stay : the room .the view , the friendly and helpful staff , particularly David and Gavin on the front desk ! Hotel has character and isn't just another hotel that could be anywhere in the world . The pleasant experience of staying at the Edgewater was one of the main reasons we were so taken with the city .

Room Tip: Ask for one with a view over the water . If you are luckier than we were with weather you may see th...

Awful service and sub-par room accommodations. This place is riding the Beatles wave from the 60's and does not appear to have made many upgrades since then. Valet staff was friendly, but front desk staff was terrible. Lost a package and double charged us. Unacceptable considering the cost.

Instead of keeping it classy, they have all sorts of "swag" in the rooms/gift shop that are outrageously priced. Do people that stay at upscale hotels really want to bring home rubber duck with the Edgewater logo on it? I think not.

Stayed just one night which was fine but we made the mistake of asking for a room with a city view - you aslo get a view and the news of trains all night some with 100 containers in tow.We arrived fairly late on a Saturday night which meant that dining in the restuarant was not an option until 9.15pm. However we did eat in the lounge and managed to get finished before the music started !! The reception staff were most helpful and very friendly and the Valeting staff deserved their gratuity. The coffee from the hotel shop was welcome and the staff very helpful.

Room Tip: I would opt for a harbour view in future. The fact that ear defenders are provided perhaps says it a...

We were booked into the Edgewater as part of a tour and it was possibly the best hotel we stayed in - certainly the most unusual. It claims to be on the waterfront - well you can't get any closer! It's built on a pier with the sea underneath it as well as outside the window. We had a waterfront room with a balcony - fabulous. The room was comfortable and well equipped, and the service friendly and efficient. The restaurant is excellent too. We had a lovely dinner and the breakfast is probably the best we've ever had in a hotel.

Room Tip: We had booked a city view room but were lucky enough to be upgraded to a waterfront. If you can aff...

Stayed here for two nights on 15/16 May, this year, and can't speak highly enough of the service we received. Got upgraded to a Water view suite, free of charge, and we're delighted with it. Staff are numerous and incredibly helpful, nothing is too much trouble for them. Matthew , our waiter in the restaurant, is a class act, and deserves promotion and a pay rise!!! The food in the restaurant is excellent , as is the ambience and service! All in all, a great experience, and would stay here again, in a heartbeat. Thanks everyone.

Room Tip: Waterfront suites are perfect.

This was my second stay at the Edgewater. The first time, I had a waterfront view and the second time a Space Needle view.
This hotel is a unique properly that frequent travelers to Seattle should stay at at least once. On a clear day the views from the lobby and restaurant/bar are some of the best you will ever see. You could sit and watch Seattle's signature ferries cruise back and forth all day while enjoying top notch cocktails and cuisine. The decor is relaxing, rustic, and natural, with a contemporary feel. It is close to restaurants and the famous Pike's Market too.
The rooms are city hotel size which means a bit on the small size. My water side room was bigger and suitable for couples. My Space Needle side room was smaller and fine for the solo business traveler. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The beds are great but the rooms could use a bit of refreshing as the paint and trim work were showing some wear and tear.
Staff and service was friendly, courteous, prompt, and efficient without being overbearing or pretentious.
Overall, the Edgewater is an excellent choice if it lines up with your Seattle plans
