We stayed here for 2 nights,as we love staying right on the ocean when possible. The Edgewater hotel is built on an old pier, and is in a truly lovely location. A few blocks from Pike Market, the sea wall, and a 20 min walk to Pioneer Square. We left our car parked, and walked/cabbed everywhere as parking and driving in downtown Seattle can be awful. Please note, valet parking is mandatory here, at $39/day! Ouch!

We booked a Water Side room, and were on the top floor (4) with an partial view of the bay. We mostly had a view of the working pier next door, but still, could nice. But the decor, ugh. Log cabin chic? Really? For an urban water front hotel, the theme was really strange, and too much. Wooden log bed frames, birch tree wall paper, river stone fireplaces? Terrible really. The rough natural stone flooring in the bathroom was hard on my feet (and to clean?). That being said, the room was comfortable, with a loveseat, fireplace and a decent mattress.

This is an older hotel, with a slight musty scent everywhere and narrow hallways with dingy carpets. The location is very nice, but the hotel itself could use updating, and is overpriced/poor value. Would stay somewhere else next time, like the Four Seasons, and get an ocean view room there.

Room Tip: Ocean view if you really want to enjoy the location, if not, stay somewhere else.

The hotel and rooms are great. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The shuttle service will run you within a mile of the property and runs on the hour. This is a great service to use to start your adventures in tthe surrounding areas and walk back.

Absolutely fantastic hotel and staff. There were some cosmetic issues with the Penthouse Suite but the staff immediately took care of the problems. Pros and cons of the Penthouse Suite:

PROS - absolutely stunning panoramic view of the water, large room
CONS - wedding venue is right next door, so expect possible loud music until midnight followed by another hour of banging around as the room is broken down

We stayed in the Beatles Suite for one night. The room was clean and had a great 180 degree view of the water and the Seattle city highlights. The room was a bit over priced at 1k a night. The staff was friendly and helpful and acted liked they enjoyed their jobs!! The food, drinks and atomosphere was good in the bar. The pillows were a little sun bleached and needed to be replaced. The shuttle van was not very accommodating. It ran every hour and it could be later than that depending on how many other stops it had to make. The inside of the van needs new seats and safety belts! Overall I would stay there again in a regular room and I would bring my own vehicle or take a cab to get around instead of using the hotel shuttle.

Room Tip: Pick a room that has a great water front view!!

Overall a good experience. Staff was very polite. Food and service at the restaurant was outstanding especially our server Tiare. Two complaints; desk clerk asked for a credit card even though I prepaid the room and held 190.00 without asking me. I had no additional charges throughout the stay, so still waiting for the hold to be removed. I have no problem with a hold but would like to be told in advance how much, he said nothing regarding the amount, said nothing would be charged. Downside, the room was smaller that I had expected but very nice. However, the mattress was awful. Hard as a granite slab. Upside, it has a great location, close to everything. Courtesy van was excellent.

Room Tip: Get a room waterside and pay extra......there's a couple train tracks across the street city sid...

This is a quirky, historic hotel. To be fair, we only stayed one night before departing on our cruise. On the positive side, we were within walking distance of our pier, restaurants and the market, our reservations were handled professionally, the room was a decent size, and it was clean and overall pleasant. On the negative side, it was pricey, there was a train crossing right outside our room and dining options in the hotel were limited. The train was probably the worst. We walked out to eat, and there were options within walking distance, but not exactly across the street. We didn't, and I probably wouldn't, even try to eat here with our 8 year old daughter. We were offered, but not bombarded with, an upgrade for a hefty price. The in-room add-ons were strange. Do people really pay $30 for an effectively "used" teddy bear, or $5 for a rubber duck in a hotel at this price range? But, again, we were about a 5 minute walk from the pier, which was very convenient. So, conveniently located, but overall average.

Room Tip: The city side rooms face the train crossing, but are quite a bit cheaper. Free ear plugs are offere...

We stayed 2 nights at the hotel on the town side of the building. My only criticism was the railway noise on this side (trains go by all day and night). There was a problem with one of bed supports separating in the night, however, this was promptly fixed when we phoned the front desk in the morning.

The food in the restaurant was excellent with very good service. All the staff were polite and helpful. The hotel is in a great location if you want to walk about and explore the sights in Seattle.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room, make sure you stay on the water side of the hotel.
