It was one of the worst experiences ever. They gave us a room that was already occupied, restaurant wait was over 2 hours with rude waiter telling us children that they just needed to wait for water. Then, we were trapped on a floor waiting for an elevator for at least 20min, with no access to get off the floor by stairs. Can you say FIRE HAZZARD???

So, I complained, and SILENT! I have not heard a thing from them. Not an apology, not any kind of acknowledgement. We are NEVER going back there!!!

You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave!

Have stayed here on & off for 25 years and sadly the wonderful energy and vibe of this perfectly located property is gone! Oh, and did I mention the poor service? Well then, allow me!

When we tried to check in to our adjoining pair of water view rooms I had reserved months prior I was told that one was ready but not the other... BUT "We will put a rush on that, sir, and call you when it is ready!" The Japanese fellow in line ahead of me had been told the same thing.

Apparently, at this Hotel that promise is the same as "The check's in the mail" and other famous non-truths because they never called! After almost 3 hours I went to the front desk and was told that our other room would never be ready AND we would need to change rooms. I rightfully complained to the assistant manager who offered a paltry $50 rate reduction on our $400 charge.
Hopefully they gave the Japanese guy a reduced rate too because he as in line right behind me and he still didn't have his room either!

But check-out time???... now that's a different matter! You must be out by 12 NOON or else.

This once wonderful property is now run like a chain hostelry... oh, which I guess it IS! Too bad.

I would suggest the board of directors of the "chain" shackle themselves to a night or two here to experience low service at a high price. And while they are at it they can enjoy a hamburger in the Burger Bistro, the ONLY in-house restaurant on site. A Burger Joint in a nice place like this? Wow, who was the blind interior decorator that made that happen?

Room Tip: Go for the North Tower only if you want astonishing views of the Space Needle and the bay... 40th fl...

We are local, but enjoy spending an occasional weekend in downtown Seattle, especially over the holidays. This time we chose to stay at The Westin. We arrived at noon and were able to check in early. Our room (3231) in the north tower was clean, as expected, and absolutely perfect - at the end of the circular hall with virtually no noise from the elevators or other guests. We had a northwest view (Space Needle - and also partial view of Puget Sound). The holiday decorated Space Needle and other downtown decorations were spectacular at night and beautiful during the day. (Love my hometown any day, any weather, any time of year.) The room and bath decor were very well done - colors soft and soothing - both were spacious, with large windows across from the beds to showcase the view. Bath had rain shower head with hand held. The toilet, when flushed, and shower, when running, were surprisingly quiet. Coffee maker, stocked mini fridge (for a price). Two double beds that were very comfy. No obvious microwave (didn't see one) and only the one sink located in the bathroom. Pool and hot tub/spa are on the 5th floor - plenty of windows there and a small outdoor patio accessible from the pool area. No continental breakfast, but there is a Relish Burger Bistro (and open bar area) on the lobby floor besides plenty of restaurants nearby. We used Sound Transit so did not have the hassle or cost of hotel parking. The Westin is close to everything downtown - shopping, Pike Place Market, the monorail to Seattle Center. The lobby is large, attractive, and inviting with friendly and accommodating staff. We didn't experience even one negative here. Check it out: http://www.westinseattle.com/

Spent a three night weekend in Seattle to see Pearl Jam. The Westin was located central to everything. Easy checkin-checkout. Only issue I noticed was the elevators tended to be slow (tall building) but also you couldn't waste anytime trying to get on as the doors closed quickly after people got off. Room was clean, view wasn't bad even though I was on a lower floor. Westin has great beds, youd almost call them heavenly. Nice sized shower. Lobby bar was enjoyable and had a decent selection of beers. Pikes market was right down the street, Space Needle was a 15 minute walk. Would definitely stay here again if I find myself in Seattle.

We stayed here years back before a cruise. I have a different appreciation as a business traveler. Hope to get the North tower, view could be of the Space Needle. Christmas tree was on top, all light up! I like the Westin experience - the beds make for a good sleep. Most of us hit jet lag when traveling to Seattle, so this is the bed you want to be awake in trying to count sheep. They do a good job to host big groups. And President Obama was there this month.

Room Tip: North tower if you want to see a view of the space needle.

Takes a lot to get me to write a review, but this did it. Came with a group of 12 people, kids and parents, in 5 rooms total. One of the rooms they gave us came complete with another guest who had neglected to leave.... At restaurant, waited nearly an hour for table, another half hour for glass of water... Attitude from waiter was prompt and fresh, however. Stay away, far away. Four seasons, I'll never stray again...
