“Almost the Perfect Hotel”
Reviewed 10 August 2014

We really enjoyed our stay at this Hotel. It is close to the touristy stuff and is pretty easy to walk to all the sites. We rented a cab a couple of times to get back to the room because of the step hills. Mass transit is easy to get to and I recommend taking the train from the airport to this Hotel.

We found several good restaurants close to this hotel and would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Seattle.

The only negative for my family was that the room was really small and the bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen in a expensive hotel. I also have a nasty bruise on my leg from hitting the wood bed frame that wraps around the beds.

We will stay again.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 303 which I thought was really small and right outside the elevator.

Thank you for being our guest--and I'm happy to hear we'll see you again at the Hotel Vintage! Next visit, be sure to look into the Queen-Queen Deluxe Rooms--plenty of space, and extra couch, and away from the elevators : )

The Kimpton is a nice property in the downtown shopping area. Rooms are fine with high ceilings and comfortable beds, and they recently installed new 50" or so TVs. The late afternoon (5-6 PM) wine socials (San Pel sodas for the underaged) help kick the evening into the proper mood. But the best 'extra' for us were the 3 new free-for-guest-use bikes which we took out 2 days, allowing us to explore the hip neighborhoods north of the city (take the bikes to visit the awesome craft breweries in Ballard). Seattle is an absolutely awesome biking city as the traffic has worsened. Only downside of downtown is that many eateries are either lunch-only places or touristy and/or chains.

So glad you got to use the bikes! We know that downtown can get a little hectic in the summer, so be sure to ask for recommendations in some of the other neighborhoods which are easily accessible by bus and bike, and have tons of not-so-touristy eats : )

Great location, easily walkable to all the best boutiques and Pike Place Market and the water front.

Rooms are very comfortable, very good King bed plus an open out sofa bed which is fine for kids.

For both stays we had a corner room (3rd & 4th floors) towards sea and west and didn't suffer any noise - the sun really comes in though if you are seeking a lay-in.

Staff are friendly, free wine-tasting between 5pm & 6pm.

It is expensive for what it is. In other cities, I've stayed at The Four Seasons for less but at the time of our visit, high cruise season, they milk you! You'd really think they could provide tea & coffee making facilities in the room for ease of convenience- although they say they'll bring you some - not quite as comfortable as self-serve when with a family and there is NO breakfast!

The Tuvio (Italian) Restaurant which is physically and economically connected on the ground floor is excellent quality and good value.

They probably won't thank me for saying this, but next door is a deli located in the YWCA which does inexpensive meals and particularly fantastic soups - despite the WYCA this isn't a downmarket area, quite the reverse but Seattle does have a lot of hobos on the streets.

I'd stay there again, but I haven't 'tested' the local competition.

Room Tip: They welcome pets - even providing doggie bowls, treats, sleep mats etc - not that that mattered to...

We had a fabulous stay at the Hotel Vintage in Seattle. The hotel is conveniently located on 5th Avenue near the Library. The rooms are clean and comfortable albeit a bit on the cozy side for a family. Wine at 5 every night, coffee in the morning, and water available throughout the day are great touches. The restaurant was yummy and accommodating. The thing that really makes this hotel shine is the staff. They were super friendly and helpful. Their suggestions and advice were great. We were always greeted, asked about our day or plans and asked if they could do anything to help. I always expect great, friendly service at Kimpton Hotels, but at the Vintage it exceeded my expectations. I rated this a 4 because the gym was a bit small and out of the way and the bathroom was a bit tight for a family of 4, but the great staff is worthy of a 5.

Room Tip: Get one of the Deluxe rooms.

Great location
Friendly helpful front desk
Room for 2 was TOO small once suitcases and hand luggage added to space. Barely ok for one. Everything else was as expected. Best croissants ever in their restaurant!

We had a wonderful experience. The hotel was very clean. The 5 o'clock wine tasting was an added bonus. The staff at the hotel was very helpful and knowledgeable about local sights that we should see. The staff also suggested wonderful locations for eating especially Steve.

Vintage is well located 2 blocks from the Light Rail and handy for walking to any part of Downtown.
Wine tasting each evening is fun (especially considering the price of wine in bars) and if you can get a corner room, large, quiet, with great city views.
Staff are very friendly and whole place has a relaxed vibe.
Wi-fi works well though you have the phaff of joining their club to get it.
Highly recommend you use the Columbia Tower Club voucher which gives access to 75th floor bar up the road with magnificent views.

We love the LINK Light Rail! Why deal with Seattle's traffic when we can get you just about everywhere by train, bus, or boat?! Experience the city like the locals : )
