It's a great thing to see, but can be very crowded on weekends. If you have a choice, see it on a weekday. It's very colorful interesting, full of authentic fruit, vegetable and fish vendors. Great people watching.

From flowers to pork belly you can find what you're looking for at Pike Place Market. My favorite stops are Market Spice and BB Ranch. Don't miss out on some great greek food from Mr D's or a $4 margarita at El Boraccho.

This is one of those tourist attractions that locals don't avoid (except at the height of summer). I use it regularly for the freshest produce as well as hard-to-find specialty foods and spices.

I've always loved the market, but it's almost always overrun with tourists. Go early to avoid the biggest crowds. It is a Seattle icon, so I recommend visiting. You can spend as little or as much time there as you like - there is plenty to see. There is some great food to be found at the market, so go hungry!
