Although this's a small chocolate factory, the tour guide is personable. You can sample the chocolates all you want & have any questions answer at the same time. You'll be asked to sanitized your hands before digging into the bowls of chocolate samples. Remember not to wear your open toe shoes when going on the tour.

The tour at Theo is very interesting and educational and, of course, the best part is sampling the chocolates. My only gripe is about germs. Despite the fact we Purell our hands before digging in public sampling bowls, I'm not convinced this is the most sanitary way to sample. Since we do pay for the tour, I would have preferred the tour leader opening fresh bars and having us each take a piece or providing mini chocolates for us to sample. The chocolate is very good and it's a fun thing to do while in Seattle. Do make sure you walk the quirky town afterwards!

First we had free samples. Then we spent more on chocolate than we did on any restaurant meal in Seattle, with no regrets. At a conveniently placed picnic table we shared our purchases: vanilla nibs in this one, salt caramel here and what is that one, curry? Our family loves chocolate and thus Theos was a hit.

Informative fun chocolate tour! Definitely call beforehand to check on tour times. Arrived at 2:15 on a Monday and they said 2:00 was the last tour of the day, but they let us in late. The factory is small but it was neat to learn about the process from bean to chocolate bar. The tour was about an hour…half is seated with various samples and information given on the cacao beans and then half the tour you’re viewing the factory. Unfortunately we didn’t see much “production” like bars coming down the belt but it's a small factory. It was a fun little tour if you’re in Seattle. The store has samples next to each type so we bought a few as gifts and for ourselves. Apparently there is free street parking, we were so used to downtown Seattle we just parked in the lot nearby, $5 for 2 hours.
