Stayed in Pioneer Square for a weekend. Found this place for breakfast. Great food and amazing service. The latte was outstanding. All of the clocks were fun to look at.
We were 2 couples traveling to Seattle November 15 to 19, 2013. We were staying at the Best Western Pioneer Square (who will get a near perfect review too)!!! We came from Southern Alberta for the Seahawks/Vikings game! We were thrilled the Hawks won! Our hotel recommended this diner for a good hearty breakfast! Well, they were right!! We were there for every breakfast during our stay!! This is a hidden little gem and a very pleasant surprise! The staff were an absolute delight, the ambiance was brilliant and the food perfection!! This will be our go to if we are ever in Seattle again! Their entire menu would be a delight to enjoy! Thanks Planet Java!!
We lucked upon this place while looking for a good breakfast spot near our hotel in the Pioneer Square area. Turns out it has been around for about 20 years and it is no wonder - the food and service were outstanding. Visiting midweek we had no problem getting a table although our server told us the lines stretch well outside the door on weekends and game days (the stadiums are in the area). The menu is a mix of diner-style food such as burgers, sandwiches and breakfast (we settled on the latter). In the mood for something different, I had the biscuits and gravy which came with four fresh biscuits smothered - and I mean smothered - in hot, tasty gravy. It also came with a generous serving of crispy shredded hashbrowns and two eggs. My wife had ham, eggs and pancakes. The ham was thick sliced but the pancakes, according to her, were probably the best she had ever tasted. They were fresh, not dough-tasting and had a nice crispness on the outside. I sampled a couple of bites of them and agree they are darn good. A key reason we loved this placer was because the food came hot...and I mean hot. Not luke warm or microwave hot now but cold in 30-seconds hot. It was a welcome surprise. Our server was extremely friendly and attentive and the diner itself is a fascinating visual treat with a myriad of clocks and even an old (working!) rotary dial phone. We were glad we found this place and it is now on our "must visit" list for future Seattle visits.
