“Above Average for non-business hotel”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 July 2012

I've started staying here as the business hotels get full and expensive during the summer. I love Belltown so keep that in mind. This hotel is centrally located to belltown and downtown Seattle.

Good: Its rooms are large enough to work in. They have business desk in room with high speed internet. Coffee, small refrigerator and water as part of the room. Clean rooms with plenty of non-AC services (ceiling fan and standing fan).

Bad: Neighborhood is edgy (not dangerous). No AC (but it is Seattle). TV is only 19in and cable channels are limited.

No air conditioning in the rooms!!! No mention was made of this in any of their advertisements. The room was dreary, the blind did not close completely and no curtain over the blind to keep the light out during the night. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. When we checked in, the two clerks made sure to let us know that this was a 100% non smoking hotel (no problem with us); however, I did mention while standing at the checkin desk that I did smell smoke, to which they both gingerly replied, "oh, that's us, we're both smokers." Lovely...

Room Tip: Make sure your hotel has air conditioning in the room.

We stayed for one night in May before a Celebrity Alaska cruise. The location was perfect for this as one could walk down the hill to the embarkation wharf in 5 minutes. Room was comfortable, staff very helpful, the free bikes were a great benefit. There is a building site right next door which could be a problem if you wanted to rest during the day. Use the stairs rather than waiting for the slow elevator. There is a small supermarket across the street for all your supplies. Would have stayed there after the cruise as well except that the room rate jumped up at the start of June when we were due to return, so we stayed at the Inn at Queen Anne instead

Room Tip: Stay on a low floor for quick access to the lobby by the stairs

Parking awkward
Staff only just friendly enough, not friendly, simply acceptable
Room moderate, clean enough, but a bit tired
Noisy at night from courtyard -was warm and no A/C, so had to sleep with window open - fountain and people below took some getting used to
Location pretty good and price pretty good
I guess it is what it is

Room Tip: Courtyard noisy

We stayed here for one night before our cruise. This place was in an excellent location- in between Pike Place and close to the Space Needle area.
Only complaints: the lack of air conditioning, the slight smokey smell in the room, and the construction noise starting at 5am.
All in all, we felt we got a good deal for the money and will definitely consider staying here the next time we come to Seattle.

Plus:
- Excellent location. Walkable distance to downtown & Pike Market
- Front desk and excellent customer service
- Mr. Brian Zaugg, the manager takes pride in top customer service
- Complimentary bikes
- Excellent value for money

Minus:
- Parking. I was told that all parking spots were taken (first come first serve). Although, they helped me with an alternate location.

We had a small issue with parking. Mr. Zaugg stepped in and made it a very comfortable experience for us. No haggle, just an amazing customer experience. The front desk is cordial and takes very good care of customers.

With all the downtown hassles, parking issues etc... - this is a perfect place to stay and enjoy your time in Seattle.....

We stayed at the Belltown Inn for 2 nights June 2012 - IF you are looking for a posh botique hotel this isn't it.....But what the Belltown offered will have me coming back the next time I head to Seattle. The staff were amazing with help about the bus routes(the belltown is on 3rd which has many busess on so you will hear them if your room is on 3rd but for us we were out enjoying Seattle not sitting in our room listening for buses!) Ask any question and the staff were there to give suggestions, and I really liked that they had lots of suggestions for eating out at the local resturaunts that were not overpriced! It's a short walk (or bus) to downtown/pike market. Parking was ok, there is a private lot or else roadside parking(that's free after 8pm). There is no air conditioning, at least we didn't have in our suite but there is a large fan. They had an area with desktop computers for guests to use in the lobby as well as free wireless in the lobby. The best way to describe Belltown is "down to earth". We found our room to be large enough and confortable, also the kitechenette served the purpose and if you needed tools for cooking (and a hotplate) just pop down to the front desk. We found the neighbourhood to be perfectly safe with alot of local residents (yes there is a dog park across the street) and a starbucks down on 1st- hello am coffee. When we were there was was construction on 2nd ave so that backs onto the back of the Belltown Inn? and you might find it a bit loud for the next month or so but again we didn't find it bothersome just the sounds of a city. I am rating the hotel 5 star (keep it mind it's rated 2-3star hotel) This is a great hotel for the traveller who doens't want to spend a fortune on a hotel room.

The best thing about the Belltown was the great price, location, and the staff! Thanks again Belltown.
