“Well-located boutique hotel”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

We arrived during an unseasonable heat wave--though the lobby is air-cobitioned, the rooms are not air conditioned-which we expected. Our room had two fans going--ceiling and floor. Thanks to a tip from another guest, we turned our floor fan around to blow out the hat air and it really made a difference.

The room was small, but clean and very functional. We had a small refrigerator-two soda and a water bottle provided. Popping popcorn and in-room coffee too-microwave worked. Great bathroom towels-large and absorbent.

Belltown Inn was half the price of the big-name hotels. We walked to Pike Market, the Retail Core, the Space Needle and Chihuly Gardens and Glass ( will be reviewed separately soon). Starbucks close by almost in every direction! Location, location, location!

Room Tip: Face courtyard. Street facing rooms seemed noisy.

My husband and I stayed here while visiting Seattle last week based on trip advisor reviews and we got a lovely nights stay just as expected. True, there is no AC, but although it was hot outside, we simply put the fan on and slept with only the sheets and were quite fine. If this is a determining factor for you then I suggest you look for a place that has AC, but for us it was fine.
The hotel staff are very helpful, letting us use the phone and giving suggestions for a place to go out on the town during the evening. We were also able to leave our bags there around noon while we went down to shop and eat at the market since our room was not yet available. Request a courtyard room-that is was we did and there was absolutely no noise at night.
If you stay here, go up to the roof at the end of the evening as it is really peaceful with a nice view! We bought a small bottle of Champagne next door at the little grocery store and took it up there to split at the end of our evening.
There are many reviews suggesting various parking ideas so we were planning on the garage a couple blocks away to be safe, however, The Belltown will give you a parking pass on arrival which is $15/day and very reasonable. The lot is across the street and over just a bit. We made sure to park towards the middle of the lot just so that our rental car wasn't right at the edge of the sidewalk, close to passersby, and it was fine! I recommend this place. You can't beat the price, especially since it was very CLEAN, and the location was also key!

Room Tip: Ask for a room in the courtyard-no noise

When we arrived at the hotel, we were met by a woman sitting on the sidewalk in front of the hotel entrance having a conversation with herself and asking for change. This is an older hotel and unfortunately we were not aware that the hotel rooms did not have Air Conditioning. Both nights we stayed the temps were in the 80's and it got very warm in our room. It was an inside room and we could open the window but there wasn't a breeze. They did provide a fan and we slept ok. Our room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and gave us good ideas for restaurants nearby. The location of the hotel was great for walking to most of the places we went to in Seattle - Space Needle, Pikes Market, Aquarium, Pier Restaurants.

Our only complaint was that the rooms have no AC. In the summer that's pretty inconvenient but they do provide fans to help so it wasn't that bad.

It's walking distance from basically everything but if you don't feel like walking the hotel provides complimentary bikes!

There's no AC in this hotel and, while the location was central to what we wanted to do, open windows were mandatory at night so our room became filled with the clanging and banging goings on from the street below. Had we known, we would not have stayed here and shame on Hotwire for not disclosing the lack of AC when they rented this to me.

Even so, this hotel merits at least "Average" marks because of the price, location and amenities so keep it on your list for any other time of year (save the summer).

Room Tip: courtyard rooms would have to be preferable.

We enjoyed our stay. Extremely clean!!! Short walk to the Space Needle and the Public Market. Very friendly and helpful staff. I would stay again if I visit dowtown Seattle. Only downside, no A/C. Temperature was pleasant, but a little noisy.

When you read the reviews of Belltown Inn, you convince yourself that noise and lack of AC are no big deal when compared to great location. Don't do that. I'm sitting up at 2 AM writing this review, nearly hanging out the window to try to cool off. The noise is low tonight, as many of the bars in the area are closed Mondays, but every other night has been filled with yelling, laughing, sirens, and the sound of glass bottles hitting the ground/recycling bins at all hours of the night in the alley near our room.
We got a great deal through Hotwire, but would not come back to stay during the summer. For Fall and Winter stays, this place is great. Definitely look for somewhere with AC during the summer months.
