“Perfect for overnite stay prior to cruise”
Reviewed 30 May 2011

We stayed 1 nite prior to an Alaskan cruise. Location was great, walking distance to Seattle Market Place and restaurants as well as being downtown. Hotel concierge, Tom, provided us with valuable information on how to save lots of money by taking light rail from the airport to the hotel, only 2 blocks from light rail station. Room was clean, bed was comfortable.

First....location! We were there for a conference and it is a block from the Convention Center....shopping and restaurants all over. REALLY close to Pike Market....a few blocks from the $2.50 train from the airport. Bar / Restaurant downstairs (Dragonfish) had a great Happy hour and sushi. I had a corner room on the 9th floor and loved it!

Room Tip: Request a higher floor in a front corner

I stayed at the Paramount overnight for a concert on the weekend with my Mom. Staff were all friendly and efficient. The room was very clean. The location was ideal for shopping, for the concert at the Paramount, a walk to Pike Place Market, etc. I just wish we'd had more time to explore! I reserved a package for $200 (plus tax) for a one night stay that included the valet parking and some bonuses (Included: 1 night stay, $50 Macy's or Nordstrom's card, $10 Starbucks card, Valet parking, and a coupon book and recyclable shopping bag). All in all it was a very pleasant experience and we will be back!

Room Tip: Close to the Paramount Theatre and shopping.

The location is amazing for this hotel. It's right by light rail from the airport, up-scale shopping, plenty of restaurants and only six blocks from Pike's Place. I can't say enough good things. The staff were extremely helpful in getting cabs and answering questions in general. Rooms seem to have been renovated in the last few years, so up to date and very clean and a nice size.

My husband had to go to the Convention Center for business and it was literally one block away...so easy!

Close of convention center, light rail, bus system, Pike's Market, and the great downtown restaurants. We found the Paramount Hotel to be clean and quiet. We heard virtually no street noise at night. In sum, zero problems. Rooms are generally less expensive than the larger hotels in area. It's an older building but it doesn't feel old. Will certainly consider staying there again next time we visit Seattle.

I have stayed at The Paramount Hotel probably a dozen times and I will never stay anywhere else (unless they are booked solid). The staff is always friendly. The room are very clean (which is really important to me) and the restaurant below (Dragonfish I think?) is really good as well and has great happy hour prices. The location is perfect!!! It's across the street from the Paramount Theater and it's within walking distance to all of the stores and Pikes Place Market (10 minute walk or so). You can even walk from the ferry, which I have done on nicer days. It can seem like a long walk, but if you know the right route, it really only takes about 15-20 minutes. I've noticed some negative comments about parking at the hotel, but it's a decent rate compared to privately owned parking structures in the city. I've seen some places charge $12.00 an hour!! I never complain about the parking price at the hotel because it is cheaper then some places and the valets have always handled my car with care. I always stay on the 11th floor and get a corner room. Those rooms seem to have the best views. In fact I have a room reserved the end of this month, one in May and one in June (lol). I'll never get tired of staying there.

Thank you for your kind review! We are so happy you’ve found your favorite spot (11th floor) at our hotel! Thank you also for the kind words about the cleanliness of our rooms (we have a fantastic housekeeping team!) and the great job our Valet does. We completely understand your concerns about the cost of parking. As you know, parking in downtown Seattle can be pricey. We’d like to assure you that we are always monitoring the cost, and being competitively priced in relation to other hotels in the area is very important to us. We’re thrilled to have you as our guest, and do let us know if you need anything at all!

diagonal across the street from the Paramount theatre (Billy Elliot the musical was a one minute walk) and central to all the shopping, transit, museum areas etc. Five minute drive from ferry terminal so avoided all the notorious highway traffic. Free wi-fi. Not a lot of street noise (sirens, drunks, honking etc) which was important as I was to find out. Top notch location. Price was pretty good for downtown Seattle (I paid $145/nt for two doubles) parking was extra $27/nt, and all the usual heap of taxes. Rooms aren't big, just enough room for two people, bathroom had smallish tub but everything was clean and worked. Beds comfortable but the windows seemed to have drafty gaps and the air conditioning unit on it let in outside air and sound as if it was an open window. Had there been much noise it would have been uncomfortable; I wasn't taking chances and jammed the earplugs in before bed. That was my only real complaint, that weird gappy window/air thing.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We really appreciate it. We also appreciate your mention of our windows and air conditioning units. We are currently working on correcting this problem. We are going through each room in a preventive maintenance program and caulking all windows, as well as checking air conditioner units to ensure they’re functioning properly and quietly. Thanks again, and we hope we see you again when in Seattle!
